They produced very diverse and cool tools back in time. Just got a Record A65 spoke shave and it is just a dream to clean concave edges.

If people (like Stumpy) would stop collecting, then, MAYBE, us Peons might be able to find some of these gems.

Unlikely. These were rare to uncommon at best historically, as they are getting in to speciality planes. So are going to be pricy regardless.

The Stanley No. 90-94's are sometimes referred to as shoulder planes, while "Patrick's Blood and Gore" calls each a cabinet makers' rabbet plane. You refer to them as bullnose planes. Do you know whether these nomenclature differences are another example of English versus American usage, or is it more complicated? Good video. Thank you for sharing.

Sorry there's little standardisation in naming. I guess all are correct!

When you make a groove too narrow, a side rabbet plane is the fixer.

I recently acquired a very small plane that was sold under the name of violin plane (vioolschaafje). It is 4 cm in size, with a curved sole and entirely made of brass. Is this something unique to europe?
@ehisey
@ehisey Ай бұрын
Not europe, but to a paticular trade so a bit rare. As you can guess from the name it was most commonly used in luthering.
