{849} Peugeot ECU Valeo BSI J03 9651196880 9651197580, What is Inside - Part 1. i opened peugeot ecm ecu (engine control module / engine control unit). it is a car computer which monitors and controls the functions of the car. in this teardown process i dismantled the computer controller pcb e2828807 / 32315065 and power motherboard.

EsselamuAleykum dear brother ECUs are very complex. Need simulators too after repair or you need in suitable cars . Also need expensive programmers and you need same model salvage ECU boards (for easy repair find components) But no problem these because your electronic knowlodge great

و عليكم السلام و رحمة الله و بركاته thanks a lot for valuable guidelines. I dealt with ECM. but I worked on realtime simulations and accessing results for other type of automated test systems. I think this type of computers work on some dedicated bus systems to communicate with all peripherals and control the system

Thank you for this. I believe this is the next big thing that will keep electronics going for small repair shops. The computers are often very expensive and now paired to the car. Most manufacturers have to keep supplying parts for 10 years I believe, so in the future with id chips in the majority of sensors and control boxes, will make it very hard to keep a car for more than 9 years, but the parts can also be that expensive that it is not worth keeping the car for too long. My car was 5 years old and the ABS computer failed. UK Honda wanted £1300+ for the computer and another £360 + to fit it - 25% the value of the car. A year later the ABS pump became faulty - £1200+ and another £360+. I removed the ABS computer and drove it for 15 more years. I wish you well Sir, and look forward to the other parts of the video. Good morning sir! I remember when I worked on trucks that on a Mack MP7 (Volvo) engine they had a coolant level sensor that would allow the antifreeze mixture to leak through the middle of the sensor and use the wires as a "wick" to allowed coolant to flow into the ecu which monitored the coolant level (along with everything else). The shop replaced the ecu the first time not knowing that the sensor was leaking and in two weeks the ecu was bad again! It involved downloading the software online at the price of $250 and took about two hours to do. The ENTIRE engine wiring harness had to be replaced each time because the coolant ruined all of the wires inside! (BOTH times) The factory service bulletin repair included installing a small jumper harness at the coolant reservoir to break the vacuum action and capillary action of the wires which was a $15 part. I'm not that familiar with passenger automotive ecus, but on large trucks, the ecu's all communicate with each other using a J-1939 protocol. I'm not too familiar with exactly how that works as I didn't get into electronics until after I stopped working on trucks. A lot has changed in a few years. Also, a lot of ecu's have to match the VIN of the vehicle to work, so you can't just swap one for another to test it (ug!). Thank you for having such diverse content on your channel. This is very practical today when components and availibilty of them is getting harder to find.

Your videos are always amazing! I have never seen the inside of an ECU. I live in the U.S and I was told that repairing these units are very expensive, since the car dealers are often the ones that replace these units. If the unit is not under warranty the prices may not be worth to repair. It may be better to get another car. The other issues I was told is that the car manufacture keep these units proprietary and they will not release it to anyone unless you are an authorized dealer. Either way from what I was told it is not an easy repair, not to mention the programming.Once again thank you for sharing such an interesting video and as always I enjoy your videos! I am looking forward to part 2. In this case ECU stands for Electronic Control Module, this one is not for the engine this is the Built-in Systems Interface. "The BSI unit is basically a computer which handles a multitude of functions such as odometer value, central locking, lights and immobiliser." I have opened a few of these but it was years ago and the cars were in warranty so we had to find out, if possible, why the BSI failed before the manufacturer (Peugeot) of the car replaced it under warranty. We were not allowed to try a repair. Now when I no longer work for a dealer or distributor I am free to try to repair BSI's or any computer in cars. That is actually one part of what I do for a living. It is hard to find wiring diagrams for car computers though.

you need programmer like autel maxisys or ktag or alientech kess v2.these developers provide you with schematics and of course programming microprocessors and eeproms.usually when liquid gets inside they go into safety mode.amazing video.

sir please help me to find the equivalent ic of DK 3124 IC. IT is in 7.8v smps. it works as a switching ic.

Hope that there are not any FPGA on the board, but first thinks first (current flowing properly). Visible damages repair and damaged/burned components replacement. I am Very interested to see you debaging CAN-bus. Wish you the best

Sir plz help me i have a Godrej Edge Digi Single Door fridge PCB V4.3 usage mcu S3F8S28XZZSK98 20 pin IC THIS PIN NO 3 XOUT/P1.1 is connected to the relay for compressor on, but not output 5v single to operate the relay of this pin no output, this ic all function is correct work but only this pin is not output, what should i do and (pin no 4 is the reset pin kya mujhe ic ko reset krna hoga how to reset this mcu ) how to solve this problem (not cp on)
