Been sledding in northern ontario my whole life, dig out front under belly pan and skis never mind rear and tht sled will walk right out, I've seen experienced guys on 121" tracks go places where inexperienced riders on longer sleds getting stuck, every sled gets stuck, if u push hard enough, but experience is the key

Been riding here in the north since I was 4, shit happens no matter the experience. The best riders in the world get stuck they just usually don't share the videos of it. I have the titan and first thing I did was take thag snow flap off it was getting manled anyways with the studs

I ride this sled in Revelstoke BC in the mountains in 4 ft of powder and it is a beast. This machine will go through a lot of snow, but you need throttle control and weight distribution. Not sure why you are in low gear and reversing all the time either. If you saw where I go with this sled, you would be shocked.

These sleds are work horses for an already beaten trail. If u want to beat a trail nothing is any better than the old 800 crossfire with 2.5 inch lug I use to have. And if u I ever got stuck bad I would tramp down snow on 1 side of it and rolled over on that side. U would never b able to roll or even lift one of these beasts. Tks for sharing.

Tying a rope through the windows of the track and tying the other end to a tree can also get you out of a bind when you slowly press the gas wrapping the rope around the track and pulling you out. Having a shovel is a must when breaking trail with these big sleds.

Your throttle control is your enemy. Keep a steady throttle and you’ll do better. Or you do you. I have many thousands of kms in the Northern Saskatchewan backcountry in very deep snow and almost never get stuck. Because I hold a steady throttle. Also your clutch and belt is taking a major beating.

drove a 600 swt skandic e -tech on the same tower line your on all winter.it had the wider ski skins and was great till the snow got to be 5-6 ft deep with no base, wish it had the 850 e-teck in it. Too bad you cant get an your sled with the swt. a gold finger would be a nice option on both. i had luck digging out the back a foot or two then getting down in front and kicking the snow down from under the belly pan to the track. will usually pop outdoing this,

Another great video! How much snow was on that trail where you were going so slow? What does resign the throttle do to help you thru those conditions? I was suprized that your 850 had as much problem as it did to go thru that., but I don't travel in those types of conditions. Thanks and keep the videos coming!

So i hit a bump i didn’t see in the line i took and snow was sugar like style under the surface so momentum was your friend and with me heading for the trees i just let off throttle to reposition and i lost momentum but in those areas we get 4 ft of snow then mild weather few days then cold creating crust and sugar like snow but all good i was way to heavy on the back aswell lol just all fun . Easier to keep you moving forward. If you lose momentum and spin, tall paddles can tractor you deep pretty quickly though. The Expedition Xtreme has taller lugs, 1.8" I believe

When hill climbing with these wide track utility machines it is often best to go until you feel it beginning to settle in and sink and you are loosing momentum. At that point stop and back up a bit and then proceed forward. You may often find that you will gain more ground and be more successful if hills are managed this way rather than throttle pinned to the max. Of course it depends on the steepness, snow depth etc. But often if you pin the throttle wide open on the hills with this type of machine you will only succeed in digging a deep trench and burying your machine. Of course the methods used for the same terrain on a mountain machine is much different.

@@steveakamooseman7786 I agree. My comment was directed at the original commentor. I have had a wide track for 12 years and sometimes I can wide open throttle to make it through iffy situations and sometimes that method will bury it. I broke trail for about 12 miles with a couple of other fellas on machine several years ago. One fella had a super wide. We came to a steep hill with unbroken snow on the trail. I knew there was absolutely no way that my wide track would make it up that hill breaking trail. My wide track is bad at backing up. The super wide volunteered. He and his machine amazed me by doing the same tactic as you did in this video. He was able to break a trail all the way up that steep hill by going forward and then backing up and going forward once again a bit further and then repeat. There just simply was no way that my machine would have done that wide open throttle. There was no way I could have done the same thing he did and make it up breaking trail due to my machine's lack of backing ability. I begun riding snowmachines here in Alaska over 5 decades ago and am still learning.
