I used this stack myself i can assure that sieges are not problem. Kemmler just WoD everything thats not on the wall and just push with the wraiths through any gate and vanhel your way past units. Terrorgheist would be the prefered siege attacker, especially for sniping flying lords. I think Thoreks trait would buff them a lil more. Very strong army imo

I reckon 2 vampires instead of wight kings would also be better since the wight kings don't really add anything to the army. 2 vampires and a terrorgheist would melt gelt so long as you're not being shot at.

The reason why gaze of Nagash wasn't working was because it's a magic missile, Gelt has 90% resistance to those when he gets his items Edit: Also why he was very resistant to Hexwraiths, he can get loads of magic resistance

Yeah, I tried killing him with a fireball once when he tried to run away Even overcharged it did next to no damage and he only had like 300 health remaining in the first place, had to let him run

@@saltefan5925 Idk, I did around 1000 damage with a single overcast on Repanse with Vlad this one time. I would say it is one of the better magic missile spells, which doesn´t say that much tbf, but it really isn´t too bad. Gelt was just too small, too fast, and too resistant.

This army definitely needs to have the wight kings replaced with a couple of flying vampires. Lore of death would help with hero sniping and shadows could help with getting terror routs

Underrated Spell in my Opinion. Its fairly Cheap and Overcasting it on a Blobfight can even make your Skeletons win a lot of melee fights with a Necromancer near.

i would say remove one wight king and one hexwraith group or maybe two hexwraiths, instead and put in a shadow and a death lore vampire both on flying hellsteeds.

The restriction of "no winds of death" does make the magic usage a lot more varied. Kemmler was getting caught so vanhels dance macabre was used to give him a speed boost. Wouldn't have used that magic for that even if you had extra magic if wind of death was on the table.

@legendoftotalwar Also searing doom is a bombardment magic. Bombardment magics can knock units down, and when a cavalary unit is knocked down it is dead. For example, phoenix bombardment skill will not damage infantary too high , but kill most cavalary entities in 1 shot for that reason.

I usually mix in a Mortis engine, cairn wraiths and disciplined Necromancers on corpse carts 👍🏻 build landmarks in galbaraz, Nagashizzar and Black Pyramid for resistances

This was actually really good to see, hell you make the game so easy you should just play with this mod to get more diverse conflicts, and not be in such a hurry to farm traits like isabella's, and then imrik doesn't die on turn 5 permanently. It definitely favors the player, but at least you get to fight legendary lords that get wiped out on contact for the rest of the game until the faction type is completely destroyed. Was fun to see you have to fight something that was less predictable

I know. I was waiting for it myself. I think part of testing these anyways is seeing how ballsy you can be and what they can really do, rather than trying to always play perfectly. Sometimes I do things not because it's 100% optimal, but because it's what I enjoy and want to see.

By replacing the wight kings with vampires on hellsteeds you'd be able to take care of Gelt and most other flying wizards so the ghosts can do their work. Plus as a bonus you get more arcane conduits.

It's a bug with Balthasar Gelt. His skill that gives him a Barded Warhorse currently gives one to every character in the entire faction. The AI can use that to give mounts to characters that shouldn't have them because it isn't limited by them not having a UI dropdown for a mount.

IMO Wind of Death is part of the Doomstack and should be "allowed", especially since this can't be done without Kemmler. Don't go full cheese only using it, but throwing in a couple on good blobs wouldn't ruin the "test".

In my experience, morathi, teclis, the fey enchantress and manfred von karstein are actually at this level or higher. Any caster on a fast flying mount is scary, but these ll are just that bit more scary

I like to take just 3 hexwraiths, give them each a lichbone pendant for extra magic resistance. Then stuff some disciplined necromancers in to eventually be magic generators and have kemmler riding around dropping zombies to mess with army movement, buffing with can hels dance macabre, and debuffing with curse of years. Can manage against most AI armies with just Kemmler and those 3 hexwraiths, with the hexwraiths easily picking up 500+ kills each, even against more elite infantry and cavalry. The rest of the army is chaff to slow down enemy movement in cases where I am fighting multiple armies. And I am playing on legendary when I do this.

Pretty sure Dwarves used Ponies in "The Hobbit". Don't think GW have issued WH Horse or Pony mounted figures, have seen Goat Cavalry but pretty certain they ain't in the Lore.

Yeah, the goat cav is a LoTR model. Warhammer lore dwarves refuse to ride animals and even hate beasts of burden from what I can tell. It's why none of the dwarf lords have mounts that aren't just "carried by more dwarves".

Gelt may have made this more challenging, as did not wind of death spamming. But the way I see it, you knkw it is a ddomstack when you can go up against tough odds like that and play suboptimally and still win. Their weaponstrength plus bonus vs infantry means they do so much damage. Edit: doesn't one of the beastman lords, like the shadowgave (i do not remember how to spell it) give magic resist to the lord's army? It wouldn't be much, but every little bit helps.

been playing orion on the cav beta, havent had a single moment where a unit of cav is rendered useless because some models are stuck though its still total warhammer so pathing is still trash and models charge into each other etc, but still, its one annoyance less.

Halfway in kemmler's campaign i am up vs 3 full empire stacks with 1 army and my game always freezes to black screen in battle when i use a few spells at the same time.... Even lowered some settings but it still happens :s running a 5800x cpu and 3080 gpu at 1440p 80fps, does anyone know why this keeps freezing in battle ? Tried google but wasn't able to find any usefull information... I use SFO mod so maybe thats the culprit ? Hope i find some help here :)

What made you decide to take Recruit Defeated LL doomstacks? Because you have to have the mod enabled unlike 99% of the other quality of life mods and was the reason you rejected the doomstack I sent in.

I don’t think he needs to download the mod to use the save, and it’s just one mod he has said he won’t download a bunch but maybe just one is ok.

@@MrConanman Recruit Defeated LL is not save game compatible, the mod has to be enabled once you've used it or it will crash the game. One button respec for example is save game compatible, you can have the mod and send a file to legend and he doesn't have to turn it on. See that white dot in the corner? He is using a mod.

Is there a hard cap for heroes? AFAIK, VC have an unlimited supply of Vampires because of the blue line lord skill. This comes with the added bonus of the Lahmian Bloodline which makes Vampires only cost about 150, significantly less than regular units (I don't know how but they're also free to recruit after a certain point, at least they have been in my last two Isabella campaigns).

@@sokar_rostau Yeah, there is a Hard cap on Hero recruitment for every type of Hero for every faction. Currently its 100, so the most Vampires you can recruit is 100. After that the only way you'll get more is by Confederating. 100 sounds like a lot and it is, however its possible to hit that in a full map completion campaign, and Hero numbers are limited by what unlocks them so might not be at max. Don't get me wrong VC do get to recruit a lot of Vampires very quickly and chances are in a normal Campaign you might not hit 100.

If you think cavalry gets stuck a lot, why don't you give a try to a von carstein bloodline lord, crapstack with bats only. great at reinforcing another skelly spear crapstack, but if you tell a bat to land, you commit them for life, either the unit they are attacking breaks or they get stuck no matter how many times you ask for them to retreat and start crumbling. You can make it work thanks to vampire magic, but the relentlesness of some units who get stuck in and refuse to retreat is a pain to watch.

To be honest this is almost the worst case scenario for a stack like this, because lore of metal is one of the few the AI isn't garbage at using and it's only vulnerable to magic damage. Blobbed on Kemmler they'd be regenning 16hp/sec or so. 20 if you got a corpse cart and mortis engine in but the AI loves shooting those.
