Being with Ana is so easy. It's clear that with Buck, their relationship is so different, they go through so many complicated situations that it only strengthens the bond they both have. Thanks to Carla for putting the doubt in Eddie's head.

Yes, Carla! Call him out! I’ll be honest, I’m not a buddie shipper. I’m not much of a “shipper” in general, I’m more of a “what happens, happens” kind of person, but I don’t like Anna (or at least how the relationship was handled so far). Something about her and Eddie makes me uncomfortable. It’s too...easy, like I’m always gonna need to be expecting the other shoe to drop.

Okay so these are my thoughts for the future of Buck and Eddie: Most of the time, when something traumatic happens it's when people realize their feelings for someone because they realize life is short. So far Buck hasn't had anything like this where someone tells him to follow his heart when it hinted at Eddie. Luckily tho, Eddie had Carla to tell him and when he looks at Ana he rethinks his relationship with her. Eddie's past relationship with Shannon was rocky and unstable and on top of that she died, not only did he feel bad about Christopher losing his mother but now he wants to make sure any future relationship he has is good for Christopher not necessarily what he wants or what he feels, hence Ana entering their lives on a personal level. I'm sure he likes her but not exactly love her (which i guess makes sense since they just started) but along with this he says the relationship is "easy" and that "Christopher likes having her around". You don't say that about someone you're dating that it's "easy". This is why I feel that he's either finally realizing his feelings for Buck or he's looking for a "fill-in" mother figure for Christopher. In the aftermath of the Tsunami episode Eddie tells Buck that there isn't anyone he would trust his son with apart from him. Eddie has complete trust in Buck. Also, Eddie was very mad at Buck when the lawsuit was implemented. There's also something key to understand here as well, you don't get mad and furious at people who don't matter to you (or at least you forgive and understand them faster). Hen was the first person to forgive Buck for the lawsuit and understood him along with Booby and Chimney following after. Though, Eddie does forgive him, he was the only one who seriously got mad at him, the other were more disappointed or mad for a little while. You don't get mad and stay mad at people who matter a lot to you because you feel betrayed and left behind. Okay now Buck. So far we've seen that Buck isn't deterred from any inkling of him being with a guy (somewhat). This is seen especially with the christmas episode and the Elf lady saying that Eddie and him have an adorable kid (Christopher) and he thinks about it to then say "thank you" awkwardly. Usually guys would shrug it off but he didn't seem to mind it or at least didn't think of it as an issue (we love mature men!!!). Buck from this point has a strong relationship with Christopher even though they haven't known each other that well, he even went on to risk his life and didn't rest till he found Christopher (it might just be that he's such an amazing person but not a lot of people would do this!). There hasn't been any eye opener yet for Buck but maybe seeing Eddie getting shot changed things. Seeing the people you love hurts a lot, there's a tightening in your chest and seeing Eddie shot placed Buck in a shock and when he pushed onto the ground his eyes and Eddie's lock onto each other. You can see it in their eyes, Eddie's scared of leaving Chris and Buck behind and Buck is afraid that Eddie isn't going to make it. At this point Eddie and Buck have a lot to think about, I know that Eddie wants to make it easier on Christopher after everything. I know that deep down he's still trying to make it up to Christopher after not being with him for his first couple of years and then again having his mom leave, come back, and then die. Buck need to think about whether or not he's even ready being with a guy (he doesn't have a past of him liking guys as seen in the show) but the great thing about love is that it manifests itself in different ways. Buck may have had to just find the right guy (Eddie in this case). Eddie also has to think about his family as well since they are seen to be very conservative. Remember guys, one thing to know about television or about filmmaking is that everything that happens, it happens for a reason (I'm talking more about the writing in this case). Every little nod, side conversation, facial expression, and even camera angle is placed where it is for a reason. I really do have a strong feeling especially after this episode that something will go down with Buck and Eddie (there's even a scene where Buck looks at Eddie in the promo for the season finale). Buck even cries in the promo, this either happens before knowing about Eddie's condition (like whether he makes it or not) or if they talk about their feelings (if it does happen) and something bad happens. Fingers crossed for these two to finally get together and realize that they really love each other. More than just best friends. But really I just hope that these two are happy whether that be together or not. They really are my favourite characters on the show so I'm wishing for the best for both of them. THIS SHOW HAS EITHER MADE THE BEST BUILD UP TO A TELEVISION COUPLE EVER OR HAS THE WORST CASE OF QUEER-BATING EVER!!! (oof okay I'm done with my rant, sorry I know it's so long)

One thing u should all know . When in a tv show a talk abt the heart begins, it always involves love . Meaning that Carla told him to follow his heart not chris's heart means that there is someone already in his heart. Otherwise the writers wouldn't have bothered to write a scene with carla saying this to eddie while his girlfriend is sitting there by him . It's like telling him ana isn't the right one for and him thinking abt it implies that there is someone else in his heart which got him to rethink a bit.

Eddie and Ana’s relationship is just that: easy. It’s not love and the word easy make me think that perhaps in Eddie’s subconscious mind, he knew he love Buck and that’s not gonna be easy in a lot of ways. But with how Carla said this and the relationship description, it makes me hope for Buck and Eddie endgame. I’m still not gonna hope too much but it’s just a movie, please just let this happen

I have no idea if Buddie will happen (and I prefer to keep expectations low to prevent disappointment), but I think this scene makes it clear that Eddie/Ana isn't going to work out, unless they ridiculously reverse course in Season 5. This moment, not just what Carla says but the expressions on Eddie's face afterwards, makes it as clear as day: Eddie isn't really into Ana. He's only in this relationship because he feels like he should provide Christopher with some kind of replacement mother figure. People who say Buddie will never happen have a lot of good arguments, but "Eddie has a girlfriend" is not one of them, IMO. Carla's comment, and then the complete lack of Eddie/Ana content in the season finale (despite the very dramatic situation of Eddie nearly dying), is not what you do when you're setting up a relationship for the long term.

Let's all be honest, the way Eddie looks at Ana holds NOTHING against the way he brightens up when talking/looking at Buck. For f's sake, make them an item! It is way too late to bring this ship back now!

So I've been thinking of theories which the story could go and it goes like this Eddie will follow his heart and realize his feelings for Buck but Buck will enter a relationship with Taylor. So the next day Buck announces that he's in a relationship with Taylor with Eddie first to know and the firefighter team next so this will cause Eddie to just give up on his feelings or just be indifferent about it and will stop him from pursuing a relationship with Buck. And we know Eddie just managed to get a move on from his emotional rollercoaster path so he will choose to just focus on other things like Christopher other than pursuing a relationship that's close to impossible. And later on while the show is halfway through season 5 Eddie will talk to someone about his feelings for Buck like Tk or Carlos (wishing 4 another crossover).

There is still hope for Buddie, I'm giving this ship 1 last try, hopefully the writers listen this time.
