Hmmm I feel like in the last 4 years not a whole lot has changed. Maglev and ball cores and magnetic cores are being mass produced more, and thats about it. Cubes have a lot more customization options than they used to, and like varying levels of cube tech you can opt for for the same cube, albeit for different price points. Like here I used the RS3M v5 standard version, which is like $9. But you can get the dual-adjust tension version of the same cube for a few dollars more, or maglev I think for a similar price as dual-adjust, and there's a version with maglev and ball core for something like $20. Though I think my cube mainly sounds buttery like that because I just put loads of DNM-37 in it lol

im not really sure -- it might just be that ive used my ball core so much that it needs a super thorough cleaning for it to feel good again. and the standard i currently am using is pretty new

For comps with MBLD, I try to eat fairly healthy, and really make sure to not overeat at all in the day or two leading up to the comp. I also don't like to eat for at least a couple hours before the attempt. If possible, I think it's good to be a little bit hungry during a MBLD attempt, but not to the point where you're so hungry that you're tired. I try to get at least 6 hours of sleep, and also don't use the memory palaces that I plan to use for the comp for at least 4 days leading up to the official attempt. Not using them for up to a week is ideal, but more than that probably doesn't make much of a difference -- if anything might make me slightly less familiar with the rooms than I should be. For comps with any other events and not MBLD, I don't do a whole lot to prep, aside from just practicing a pretty normal amount. Maybe some comp-simulation averages everyday.

Do you meditate or do any kind of mind clearance techniques? Also I just started blind because of you and your incredible feats and I am wondering if I should use a memory palace for normal 3bld or its a waste. And the book you recommended in one of the podcasts "moonwaking with Einstein" is a really great book!@@GrahamSiggins

@@TheWin475 i dont do any kind of meditation really, except for sometimes, ill walk through the entire memory palace im about to use in my head, and try to visualize it as best as i can. I dont think it's a waste to use a memory palace for 3bld. It probably would help memo stick. But at a certain speed you probably just wont get much benefit from it anymore.

nah i average like 12 with 3style on some scrambles it's worth it for me to use 3style, but none of these were

@@alphabeta4682 its funny you say that because Elliott Kobelansky has an official 9.xy average with 3style lmao. The only reason Tommy and Charlie don't have sub-10 3style averages as well is because they are significantly faster with CFOP. So doing a full 3style average would be detrimental for them and arguably against the regulations.
