9 days out from my 4th round of chemo, and I’m feeling physically strong, thanks to a regime of strength building at the gym, walking, swimming, and a low carb keto diet.
TIMELINE:
AUG 2, 2023 - Diagnosed with brain tumor.
AUG 4, 2023 - Surgery to remove brain tumor.
SEP 14 to OCT 30 2023 - Radiotherapy/Chemotherapy.
NOV - 4 weeks without treatment, followed by an MRI.
DEC 2023 - MAY 2024 - Six months of taking a stronger chemotherapy pill five days per month.
On August 2, 2023, after experiencing increasingly severe symptoms, I was diagnosed with a grade 4 astrocytoma brain tumor.
On August 4, I had surgery to remove the tumor. I was told they removed ninety-five percent of it.
For six weeks from September 14, I underwent five days a week of precision radiation treatment, at the same time as taking daily chemotherapy pills (temozolomide). This was followed by five weeks of no treatment, then six months of further treatment in which I am taking temozolomide for five days each month. This dose is three times stronger than the one I took during radiation.
I am fighting this from my end with an extremely low carbohydrate healthy ketogenic diet, exercise, and minimising stress where possible.
If anyone has any helpful tips, success stories, or knows of any research on the metabolic approach to cancer treatment, please comment or send me an email:

I totally understand the question of what to do when you are out of work and how do you spend your time? I initially started following Seyfried’s book and cutting my weight down to 160lbs. Then I turned to alcohol all day long. After my last surgery and radiation, I’ve turned that alcohol obsession into an exercise obsession, working out every day.

It’s so human to deal with stress and boredom with self destructive thoughts and behaviours. I do that too, and always will, but channelling my negative energy into diet and exercise does, for me at least, mitigate stress, worry, and the torture of uncertainty. Plus, it has the added benefit of improving my health at this critical time. (Ironically, my new muscle definition and increased fitness has made me look healthier than most other adults around me. That’s a win, and I will fucking take it!) Good luck @CB43. You’ve been through so much more than most people ever will. While others are living their regular lives, we are dealing with a life threatening illness, and all the side effects. But I do believe we are using metabolic therapy, not just for ourselves, but for the good of humanity, and the future of the planet. That is something we can be proud of. We are early adopters of a therapy that, in 50, 100 years, will be an integral part of life for everyone. I just know it. So it is a noble cause, and I’m so glad to have you as a fellow traveller. ❤️

I’ve thought about listening to recordings of rain, or running water over rocks, or wind in the trees when I’m writing, or trying to go to sleep. You’ve just reminded me to give it a go :)

@JaneWhiteheadBrainStory I highly recommend one. They are very small, so you can travel with them, and they have quite a few sounds on them.

It is so nice to be near a waterway…representing desire to be refreshed with a cleansing of nature…God does that for me in my dry times…Jesus brings refreshing rivers of living waters…cooling, cleansing, and refreshing like no other!
