In this step-by-step tutorial video, I walk through the top 9 new features in Microsoft Teams meetings 2021. These Microsoft Teams new features are either out our rolling out, and include Dynamic View in Microsoft Teams, Presenter Mode in Teams, Whiteboard in Teams updates, Attendance in Teams meetings updates, and more. Teams new features are always rolling out and updating, so if you don't yet see the new Teams Meetings features, it can take a few weeks to rollout out across all data centers. NOTE: Many of these new features in Teams are rolling out right now, so if you don't see them yet, it could take a few days or weeks to roll out globally everywhere.

looks like it might still needs a bit of work when recording though, looked fine live but recording showed either the presentation and small presenter image, or full presenter on top with content behind missing, so one to try out but maybe avoid just now if you need to record

We really need to have multiple organizers for Teams AND participant self-select breakout rooms. These features are necessary for both staff/faculty virtual meetings AND virtual student class periods. Please make it happen!!!!

According to the Microsoft Teams Roadmap, I believe that the Breakout Rooms Manager feature is coming at the end of September 2021.

That is a great question. I know you can do "3 or more" but don't know the upper limit. I suggest trying it out and see what happens

Were the participants only able to be on the right because you were presenting with the live PowerPoint? I'm dying to share my screen and see my students on the right like in Zoom !

How do you get the + option on the top of the meetings page? I only have details and schedule options.

You can use two of the 4, hopefully the other two will be added later this year

Great update. That improvement for Whiteboard is important. I know there are other UI changes coming soon but it is nice to use images now. The Whiteboard team needs to do more evangelism for their product and do more to highlight these changes.

Great tips! Is there the ability to rotate participants through breakout rooms? For instance, each room has a specific question that participants need to answer. After say 2 minutes, I can rotate them to the next room, until they've gone through the four rooms/questions. As an alternative, could they each answer the four questions in a Microsoft forms while in the main room? Thanks so much! I've subscribed.

They're yet to add annotation capability. As a teacher, there's no way for me to use Teams over Zoom without that feature.

What kind of screen recorder do you use, I try to use OBS but then I cannot record the buttons on the top of the screen... cheers from Norway

I use Camtasia. But for some of the new Teams Meetings features I had to use PPT screen recorder

Are you using Channel meetings by chance? This hasn't quite rolled out to Channel meetings yet but will in the near future

Hello Mike, I don't see the Attendance when I click edit the meeting, only Chat - Detail - Schedule Assistant. How can I turn it on?

How I wish there's an improvement wherein I can share my screen and do PowerPoint and at the same time I can see all my 20+ students faces.

I usually present on 2 screens. If I don't have 2 screens available, I configure PowerPoint to be shown on a window (Slide Show, Set up Slide Show, Browsed by an individual (window)). This enables the presentation on an independent window and not full screen. I share only the Window via Teams and now I can have all the students on the same screen as I share a PowerPoint presentation. Hope it helps.
