My, no joke, personal Jason Mamoa story.... In HS I went to this select school with kids from different high schools all over the city. There was this crazy hot guy that I had a HUGE crush on for two years, but I never knew his name because we weren’t in the same classes. Since all the kids were from all different high schools, you couldn’t just ask who someone was. I was shy and never talked to him except one time I went to my locker during class to get a book. My crush was standing there in a puddle of water. Just us alone in the hall. He turned bright red and said, “It wasn’t me, I swear.” My stomach did a somersault and I ran back to class. A few years ago I got to thinking about this old crush and wondering whatever happened to him... and what the heck his name even was. I googled all of the local HS yearbooks I could find to see if I could find his picture.... no luck! I resolved that he would forever be my long-lost, nameless crush. Until today.... I open my phone and in the newsfeed section is a picture of this guy who looks EXACTLY like my HS crush! I was like, ‘What in the world...!?!?’ So I clicked the link and it was an article about celebrities when they were young. It was a picture of Jason Mamoa. I haven’t ever watched his films but my mom recently told me that this big movie star in the new Aquaman movie was from our area... I couldn’t even wrap my head around it as the pieces started to come together. I googled “Jason Mamoa + the school I went to” and sure enough... he took Marine Biology at the school. After 20 years, I finally learned the name of my HS crush.... Jason Mamoa!

Aside from his much admired looks it is clear that this man is very intelligent. Not just 'book smart' but he also has an extreme amount of insight. He thought his way out of his post 'Baywatch dilemma' by completely thinking through the path he needed to pursue to get his acting career back. He also recognised that the 'full scholarship' he had been awarded would not be a good thing for him. Not many people get the opportunity to be offered a full scholarship and very few have the self awareness to turn them down. He turned it down as he recognised he would be so distracted by the outdoors 'sports' opportunities the area provided for him and that he knew he would be pursuing them far more than he would his education and didn't want to screw that up. That is true insight and intelligence. Comment Not in anyway meant to detract from all of his other qualities including his acting skills.
