I'm not even the biggest Radiohead fan but I know that Pablo Honey over OK Computer is just absurd
@travistotle
@travistotle 5 ай бұрын
I get it though. If you pretty much only listen to hard rock, then you're probably only gonna like the brief era of Radiohead where they floated around that genre. OK Computer is where their sound really started to change and become more progressive. He should listen to The Bends though, it sounds like he missed that one and it's an amazing alt rock record.
@The.Last.Tempest
@The.Last.Tempest 5 ай бұрын
@@travistotle See my problem is, as someone who likes both genres, Pablo Honey just isn't a very good album. Even if the style is something I can typically enjoy, it seems like they have yet to catch their bearings as a band. Every song I enjoy for like the first 30 seconds and then I just skip away as I quickly lose interest. OK Computer is way more engaging and just has a certain level of depth to it that the first albums couldn't obtain. I know style will always trump substance but can you honestly say you like Pablo Honey's style? I'll give you the argument on the bends though, he at least could have respectively picked that one.

They are always taking new sonic sounds capes and melodic grooves, with texture and electronic subtle sounds and creating an atmospheric sounds cape you can get lost in... I’m never around when live, but some suggestions for next iteration: That Dog, Sublime, Savage Garden, The Tragically Hip, The Black Crowes. I hate Black Crowes but they had success. I think Savage Garden is forgotten cause they were a pop duo with department store hits but those were well written tunes. The Tragically Hip are a fantastic group held back by borders and airplay but their peak was late 80s - early-90s and aesthetically fit into the 90s alt scene as opposed to late-era classic rock.

When the media was trying desperately to hype up all that Blur vs Oasis bullshit all of us cool kids knew 2 things that were the truth: 1. It was fine to like BOTH. 2. The real best British band at the time were The Manic Street Preachers.

I was expecting Foo Fighters since they put out a trilogy of albums in the mid-late 90s… but they have a such timeless quality they can’t be confined to this ranking - plus they have at least one “very good to great” record for each decade of the new millennium they’ve been active in: In Your Honor (2000s) Wasting Light (2010s) But Here We Are (2020s)

Jane's Addiction's last album was fantastic. Not a huge fan of Weezer's output after the... Blue Album (I believe it was the "blue one"), but The Angel and the One from the Red Album is one my favorite songs by them. Plus, the album with the hairy monster on the cover was pretty good too.
