Yep. I was concerned my nephew was being sexually abused. My sister refused to take him to the Dr so I called the father and it went through the courts. The psych said he seemed okay thank God. brian did you expect the operator to waste valuable time acting all emotional and asking the guy if he is okay? It is her JOB to not let emotions hamper her communication. Geeesh people, what is wrong with you all?

@@commonconservative7551 I do not think there is anything wrong with some of those comments..as it is not so much the feelings, I believe the reference is to the sighing like she is annoyed when he first starts talking, she stops him repeating, she has that annoyed sigh sound emitting from her. She has no spark nor interest. She only starts to sound involved with the call itself when the call is almost over. How many are like that? How many missed opportunities to help, save, intervene and stop crimes have happened due to persons being like that? Listen to the call again. Not even in her methodical robotic like questions does she even sound like she has to get as much information as possible from the man so that it is recorded. Nothing until the end. Let me tell you, if I was in a life threatening situation that would require for a dispatcher to stay on the phone with me and I got her, I would ask for her to transfer me to another dispatcher.

The 911 operator has to fill out a form as they're calling and fill in the information. STOP saying she's interrupting him. She trying to get the info for the detectives going in. Details like that come out in court.

Why is it so common for 911 operators to interrupt people and sound like they are being bothered. Like they are not doing a job. Makes my blood pressure go up listening to these type of videos. That man is obviously nervous but this heffa on the phone won't listen and has no sympathy.

I was allowed to sit in at the local 911 communication center. You have no idea what Dispatchers are put through. They are there to help folks who are in dire need, with true emergencies, and, they get calls from folks who didn't get the right hamburger or won't answer the questions as stated so emergency help can get there, asap. They start with "Where is your emergency?" People ramble on, don't give the where, when what. It's like pulling teeth. I have so very much respect for 911 Dispatchers.

To the people bashing the 911 operator, as one myself, you’re SUPPOSED to be calm. That’s how you’re trained. It’s very unprofessional to lose your composure and let your emotions get in the way. This isn’t a life or death situation, so for some to say “wonder how many people have died at her hands” is just ignorance. You can clearly hear that the guy is rambling because he’s so nervous and in shock. She’s taking down everything he’s saying. She’s listening. She’s analyzing the situation to be able to dispatch to the responders as much information as possible so that the situation can be handled as it should be. The more information he gives, the better. So no, she should not be freaking out. If I was in an emergency situation I would not feel very sure about the situation if the 911 operator was freaking out.
@snowblo12 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you. After I listened again, I don't deserves all of the flack that she's received on here. She did her job.
@daniellaprovince75392 жыл бұрын
I second this! We have to remain calm in every situation. She did her job and kudos to her for not losing her cool.
@kimmiely25462 жыл бұрын
Don't let the ignorant know-it-all's get to you. I'm in training right now and tend to see a lot of commenters bashing 911 operators for simply doing their job. They clearly know nothing about it and fail to realize that we aren't a crisis line. We are emergency dispatchers who are trained to ask specific questions in a timely manner. Sadly, the internet is full of ignorance. Everyone has an opinion on topics they know nothing about.

I agree! I'm an ex Brit Cop and can say the call handler dealt with this really well. She listened, asked all the right questions. Honestly, some people have no idea! One person said she should have passed the call to a detective! Like detectives sit in an adjoining room waiting to take calls! 🙄
