WOW He IS an introvert, from his natural reactions. It also proves that an introvert can be a great leader in the USA with the ability to make his point clearly. Not necessarily party and loud and arrogent all the time.

Bob shows his true colors as not only as an outstanding leader but is really a decent and honorable person who genuinely cares for people. One of his earliest jobs after college, was working as a weatherman for my late husband, Anthony Ceracche at Ceracche Cable Television in Ithaca, New York. In 1978, Bob was awarded the Ceracche Achievement Award at Ithaca College given to outstanding individuals in broadcasting. My husband, Anthony Ceracche, and I visited Bob many years later when he was head of ABC Television. We brought him an old cancelled Christmas check in the amount of $15.00!!! He sure has come a long way since then, and if my husband were alive today, he would be among the first to congratulate Bob on not only on his many achievements but also on how wonderful a human being he is. He really is Mr. Nice Guy! Wendy Ceracche

@boppob1343

@@MikhailKalashnikovMiG I mean yeah he kinda lucked into the Disney job. His mentor was the CEO of ABC and while working under him, Disney bought ABC. That being said, he's very good at being a manager of sorts. Like he said, he gets a team of the best who can do each job and then let's them do their thing. Sure he's humble here, but he's a ruthless business man. A humble man doesn't become a billionaire, because you have to do things a humble man would never dude. A humble man doesn't simply fire thousands at the sight of a profit increase, or buy another billion dollar company at the sight of future profit growth. The dude is a ruthless capitalist for sure. So he's the exact opposite of a humble man imo. You don't make that much money purely as an executive without being an asshole a majority of the time.

@@renainc.6082 she was kind of on top of him too with the leading questions - trying to get him to say something on purpose. It's really disrespectful - but I don't expect more out of Oprah these days unfortuantely. I think she used to be better - getting to the deep stuff. She turned into a Dr. Drew - just threw everything out the window - but with her it was to make money. With him it's just to be happy and tell the true stories. At some points I was like 'let up'. She pulled it together at the end, but why make it so political and racial? I guess maybe she's supposed to because she's getting to the heart of what everyone wants to know I guess. It was just off-putting and clownish. It's supposed to be more neutral. Recode and Jimmy Kimmel also did that - injecting their own opinions. Like who are they interviewing - him or themselves? Come on!

You are joking right? Their stocks have crashed, they were forced to lay off thousands of employees, all their recent movies have bombed and the Star Wars Hotel was closed after less than a year. I would not trust him to so much as mop a floor. He is destroying Disney.

30:00 The fact that he still feels accountable to that extent to other people on the simple basis of being human says a lot for someone who's a massive corporate CEO.

What a fantastic interview - Oprah did such a wonderful job or making it flow so naturally and really digging into the inner workings of Bob's brilliant brain! The question, "what do you know for certain at 68, that you did not know at 48" is so powerful.

Excellent conversation of Robert Iger with Oprah Winfrey. Wonderful personality, very thoughtful conversation on how he could manage such a big business, how he transformed Disney into one of the most valuable company in the world. Three important lessons to note that Quality product matters, Trust the talent from acquisition and let them run their show because they know their product very well and thirdly no boss succeeds without supreme self confidence. Great caring for the humanity, concerned about all employees of Disney and their families. Top most priority goes in handling the crisis to ensure the safety of the employees, transparent communication, risk taking capability and has the unique quality of convincing the boards for adapting disruptive way of doing the business, for an example, moving from business to business to Business to consumers ( B2C). Thank you dear Rober Iger sir. Lot more to learn from you and worth reading your book 'the ride of a life time'.

Great interview - going to share what I learned to keep it fresh. I learned to beat the public to the punch when crisis strikes - to be the defining voice within crisis. I learned to stick with/support good friends in their weakest moments despite the potential material consequences. I learned decency over profit. I learned humility and kindness. I learned that composure is critical for leadership.

he really had more sympathy than I did when it came to the alligator. I don't have kids - so it's really hard to empathize with someone who does. But that's why he's there and I'm not.

Just take a moment to appreciate Oprah talking about how Bob can make employee feel like the most important person in the world when he’s talking to them. Then check out 52:50 to see him answer an employee’s question using the exact technique. Amazing.
