@@DrTobacco @Diego Naranjo ALOT has happened since then... So I had the 97 Cobra for just over a year, then I upgraded to an 04 Torch Red Terminator which I had for about a year. Unfortunately I'm a college student so I had to make a sacrifice and sell it so I didn't have to literally kill myself by working my ass off full time while being a full time Physics student to pay for it. Since then I've had some other fast toys and started riding motorcycles. I've had a ZX-6R, ZX-10R and now I have a Yamaha MT-10. I graduate in about a year or so, and I will be in the market for another terminator. And that's pretty much my life of the past 5 years. Looking back maybe I should have just kept the 97, it was reliable, paid off, and while not as fast as the 04, was still a fun car. But I can't say I haven't had fun over the past 5 years either. Owning that 04 was the best times of my life so far.

Benjamin Turner agreed. Even Unique Performance who were LICENSED by both Shelby and Foose to make Elenor replicas got in trouble for VIN washing. Some random person selling a fake cobra would not only have to have a title wth a cobra VIN, a clean title, not salvaged, then take a non cobra, replace the dash VIN, the sticker on the drivers door, and every single fender and bumper.

First of kudos on the beautiful Cobra you own. Can't never hate on a Mustang. Been my favorite car since high school. Your video was very informative. When I was only sixteen I bought what I thought back then was an original 96 mustang. However, at the time I loved cars yet I was not quite not as knowledgeable about Mustangs as I am today. I really bought a 96 2 valve 4.6. Mustang GT. I still own this car and I love it. I put nice mods on the GT which makes the car really fast. Yet I condemn myself every day for nor being informed about what I was buying because of my haste to get a Cobra Mustang. I can't fault anyone but myself for not doing my research. I wish I would of seen this great video before I went on the hunt for my favorite car in the universe. I'd take a beautiful Cobra or Shelby Mustang over a Mercedes any day of the week. Great video. Beautiful car.

Well, anyone selling their "GT/Cobra"s or Fauxbras that they're trying to pass off as real should watch it too. :)

So no way to have any airflow sitting in traffic cools down on freeway but it sits warmer then sitting in the middle like all other vehcals I've driven. @sammoon2906
@sammoon2906 9 жыл бұрын
+cavalierz24fool What is your intent with the car? Do you want a collectible, or do you want to drive the car? A genuine Cobra will usually be worth more than any kind of swapped car, but a Coyote swapped sn-95 will be more powerful than any SVT offering made during those years. You will likely spend more swapping a Coyote into a sn-95 than just buying a SVT Cobra, especially a 94-95 Cobra, but with the least powerful Coyote version being 360hp(F-150), the Coyote swap will end up being a faster car. Also, unless you've already done a sn-95/Coyote swap, it will be headache start to finish, and will nickel and dime you to death, so if you aren't REALLY mechanically inclined, then just buy a 96-98 Cobra, slap a Novi-2000 on it, and enjoy. If you really want to know the car, and feel like you've built it yourself, and really want to have a (relatively) unique Mustang, do the Coyote swap. If you're just looking for a car to buy, stash away, then sell for your retirement, buy about five stock sn-95 Cobras now, while they still aren't super collectible...

@@Cobradaddy true, I drive my 95 and 94 5.0 cobra a lot. But my 95 cobra R only gets driven on car show day's and one year I drove it to foxtober fest because I had a stupid moment and thought about selling it to a guy that was there. I'm glad I didn't because I love this car. But yeah it only has 24,000 miles and I think that's high. I bought it for $15,000 5 years ago with 19,000 miles on it. The only way I would let it go is if I traded for a Shelby GT350 or GT 500 depending on year and miles. Or a 67 fastback or early 70s mach1 in good condition.

@Cobradaddy 4 жыл бұрын
@@chadbrattain7185 That's low but high for the R, my 95 I think is around 60ish. I don't drive it much anymore, probably 10k in the last 15 years. It's waiting for a TT setup I have. Thought about the 350 a few times, but you just don't see clean 95s around and definitely don't see clean 1k hp ones, so I'm just gonna build it. 500s are nice, but no manual no purchase. The R I saw with 9 miles I think was sold for low 20s. They usually don't sell for what they are asking for, seems like even tho they're rare, not many want them.

@@Cobradaddy I agree about the manual transmission. I have two automatic mustangs and they both are the 5.0L pushrod motor and both are around 25 percent over factory with about 300 hp each and they are very slow compared to the 5speed mostly factory 5.0. The automatic transmission from the factory are just to weak for any real performance mods. Unless you get a good after market transmission with a extended hp and torque ratio, which is around $4000.

I wouldn't say, "no ones gonna downgrade". someone told me I was stupid for downgrading putting a 98 cobra teksid block into my 03 cobra. when you think about it, how different are the 03-04 motor and the 98 cobra (which the teksid is actually stronger). the reason I did this was my cars burned down in a garage fire and my cobra motor was in the shop luckily getting built. I got it fully forged, lowered the comp. ratio for boost, punched 0.30 over and ported & polished the heads, valve job, springs and the intake was port matched. the issue that made the 03-04 heads flow better without cylinder #7-#8 getting hot was taken care of so the b heads will flow just as the 03-04. so in my case "downgrading" wasn't actually that bad of an idea. I just wish the aftermarket intakes didn't cost $2500+.

Question for anyone, did the 98 cobra come with the SVT emblem on trunk lid? I see some that have them and some that do not. I just had mine painted and would like to know if it was produced with it.

yes all 98 cobras did. the only sn95 cobra that did not are 94. im sure a few late built 94s snuck out with a badge though. only way to get one is to get lucky and find a new old stock one. swap meets are great for that. I bought 6 NOS ones and sold a few for a couple hundred bucks. very hard to find. and people with nice cobras are willing to Pay for the correct badge.
