Joe Humeas Joe Humeas it’s just a grown wire. You need grown for the car to start if theirs no grown the car will not start and the wire was in that same spot it’s in that’s how I bought the car I no longer own this car but ik that’s we’re the wire was at I bolive

@@mrmusclecarsuspect5362 Was the wire not connected to the car? Was it just floating and you needed to used the aluminum to press it down?

Joe Humeas the wire was on their with the screw but for some reason it was not getting ground in that area. And the aluminum just helps it get ground better! The grown wire where the thermostat pipe is also was getting bad grown but I replaced the tip and that helped sometimes in can just be a bad tip or just a bad wire.

DJohn NineOneSix this method I use gives it better ground contact but usolly you can just find a good ground in a good area like we’re the thermostat housing is . Their is another ground wire that comes from the starter. I don’t have this Honda no-more since years ago lol try this method it should work

@@mrmusclecarsuspect5362 oh okay.. Well my problem was a bad ground cable. From the battery to the chassis. About 5 inches long. But since I have high performance parts and high power audio system and a AGM battery I decided to install a 2 gauge cable from the negative battery post to the chassis bolt and add a ground cable from the same bolt to the bolt on the braket transmission. DJohn NineOneSix try a longer wire you local auto stor should have one to fix perfect find another boot or try placing the aluminum peace from a can into the bolt with the ground it should give it beter contact and fix your issue

first did you check if any wires might be coming into contact with other wires sounds like you might be having a mechanical short circute. make sure all your wires are connected properly and make sure the grown wire on the starter has its o ring properly placed that happens before to a friend he forgot to put the o ring on the grown wire, it comes with one.

There's also a Short Issue on those Years. Under and Behind the Intake Manifold. Good Luck.

Check the Electric load detector ELD or just replace it

Try grounding the alternator and see what happens

I have a 99 as well. Quick question if you turn the key to run and jump the starter solenoid with a piece of metal does the car start? If so it could be your ignition switch if not the ground.

@shamdagoat3659 if it cracks sometimes and won't start but starts randomly, it can be a loose grown or bad grown wire. Make sure to check your terminals on your matter and make sure they aint loose, and i mean, check them all well. When replacing the grown or doing anything electrical. You want to make sure to have your battery disconnected. Always dissconect your battery.

Almz Alison it should be I never had an issue anymore after I did this on my Honda Civic, do it this way it should be safe!

Almz Alison if car dies and needs a jump to start might want to have battery check out and alternator at your loca parts store for free and find out if it’s that, and also grown issue wouldn’t let your car start either if the area it’s on has no good grown

So it sounds like you have a crank but no start only after more than one try.. if thats the case your started is probably going out. Happend to me. Same thing it turned out being the starter but always check your growns. And make sure you always disconect the negative cable when working on electrical parts like replacing the starter.

Dose it crank but no start or wont start wont crank? Or maybe dose it just not do anything? I also seen flicking dash on the hondas and usiolly when theirs nothing or flickering lights it can be just a grown issue. When i say nothing i mean no crank no start just light on dash but goes of and on

George Serrato if you’re car start up then stalls and dies after can be a MAF sensor, it can be cleaned with a Mass Air flow cleaner or you can replace if damaged or worn out.. you can also check for vacuum leaks, main relay and also dose it sound like a misfire? A bad grown is a crank no start mostly it won’t start if it’s a grown issues mostly.. let me know if you got more questions

@@mrmusclecarsuspect5362 i cleaned up the MAF sensor. And i don't have no codes neither and i was wondering the ground cable not being on the frame. And im thinking the starter when the car is warmed up when i drive and start it up again it starts up easy.

George Serrato the car dies right away or right after it warms up? You might want to make sure you ain’t got no loose wires maybe the battery wore or change were you have your grown wire at to somewhere you get better grown sometimes it tends to affect it in different ways.. won’t hurt to try has happens before I to me on my Mazda 3 car shut off out of nowhere and it was a bad connection to the better the grown.

@@mrmusclecarsuspect5362 what it does the rpm needle hops to 1000 and goes 0 like a tap start and hold the key to start like in 1 second and sound of it actually starting up running its only happens when before warming it up. And when after driving it and go drive again it starts fine. If i have the engine at operating temperature.

George Serrato spark plugs ,air filter ,fuel pressure, vacuum leaks EGR needs a clean and check your battery connections make sure they are good and that you have a good battery.. also have you checked at your local parts store with a scanner to see if you get any codes?

Do you know any legit websites.? I need break pad, break lines, a fan and battery.. Plus tune up and stuff but i can get that done after i order the parts.

THRYZ FIREGANG my bad bro for some reason it didn’t show me your msg before. It was on the thermostat pipe before for grown but it was not getting good grown their so I had to move it

If its a bad ground you should just hear a click. The car will not crank with a bad grown.

@@mrmusclecarsuspect5362 Perfect man , thank you. Can I explain what I have done real quick and maybe let me know what else to check ? It’s a 98 Honda Civic dx auto , no spark but cranks. - the fuel pump primes , fuel is getting to the injectors - the cam shaft turns so I know the timing belt is fine. I pulled the oil cap off and had my son crank it. - I put a new distributor on it , still no spark. - checked the fuses related to the Ignition components , they looked fine. I’m planning to change the main relay and the crank positioning sensor. Any other ideas ? The car was running fine , just random turned off. Thanks 🙏

@@reza_dc2 check cps and main relay even sometimes it can be be a bad starter that wont allow your car to start try tappig he starter wil having someone start the car in a safe matter alwsys secure your wheels. Another thing you kight want to check it your sparkplug wires even with one bad wire car eill not start and also those i bolive have a fuel filter a dirty fuel filter will cause your car to randomly shut off. Sometimes it can just he a simple fuel filter. Sorry for the late reply.
