Thank you so much for taking the time to document and record this! I just bought a 97 K1500 sight-unseen that just went through a tranny swap. It currently will not turn over, it seems that something is wrong with the starter, flex plate, or torque converter. I've been looking all over for a video showing the entire process to separate the transmission from the engine on this specific truck and yours is the first one I've found. Many videos just started with the transmission already separated. I really, really appreciate this. It'll be a couple more weeks before I get to where the truck is stored and I am trying to do all the research I can before hand. It'll be a little different since my truck is 4x4 and will have the transfer case to deal with, but hopefully it won't be too different.

Another note to be watchful for ; your flex plate needs to be installed in a particular “direction” If installed backwards it could cause how it sounds yours is behaving Another possibility is a slightly incorrect flex plate as well

@@blakeishere4u do you know what change made a dished flex plate necessary? If the previous owner swapped a 98 transmission into a 97 truck, could that potentially be the issue?

Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge it is greatly appreciated and I will be using the longer bolt for sure. It seems like it would help tremendously.
