44871 & 45699 Blitz Copy Pit on The Tin Bath 14/2/16

LMS Black Five 44871 and Jubilee class 45699 Galatea were at the head of the Tin Bath steam charter run by the Railway Touring Company on Sunday 14th February 2016. We see the pair in fine form attacking the climb up Copy Pit on the return leg. The tour was running from Preston to Sheffield and return.

Blooming magic! Just for a minute, I thought it was Scotsman out again with all that steam. Forgot about this and went to Doncaster show. At least I didn't have to stand outside in the snow showers in South Yorkshire for an hour..... and then it was on time for you! Thanks for sharing it with us all, Steve.

Some fantastic footage of 44871 & 45699 Galatea working away on the climb up Copy Pit, was onboard that tour and the 2 engines certainly gave a fantastic performance on the day and for most of that day as the weather was so fantastic I was able to have the camera out for most of the day (I Did however keep my head inside the coaches, only time it goes out is when stationary in a loop/station or when getting off).

Phil, On a different clip I though I detected one or tuther doing a BIG wheel slip. Was I imagining it or did Galatea slip as it did during the messing about at Blackburn last night????
