Finally managed to get back on the Dyno. Showing 20+ bhp since the lowest power run but still 10+ bhp up on the stock figure we had.... Maybe we should map it next? or just slap a turbo on there.... engine swap??? so many choices
Engine Spec, on 110k, Tubular manifolds, decat pipes, underdrive pulley, K&N filter (cleaned of excess oil)

You've got the exhaust free flowing and that's where one makes the 1st changes and most important. The TB will be the next move so you can realize the engine flow potential, The K&N filter doesn't get a lot more HP (displacement dependent) on it's own (2 to 5) as it's benefits are just one piece of the puzzle. Add 14% to your wheel HP and that will be what you have at the flywheel.

here in the UK the figures given are already calculated engine HP. I will measure the manifold pressure to ascertain if the TB is actually a restriction at all. A bigger TB usually results in slower moving air which isnt a good thing.

There’s been a big deal about the IPD plenum and larger TB. Dyno results have been desultory.

Maybe replace the rims with lighter rims and put titanium nuts. The weight gain on the wheels has a significant impact on the behavior of the car. It would be interesting to have feedback on this subject.

An early 3.2 throttle body and plenum should fit as the 2.5 is throttle by wire but after year 2000 they went to electric throttle bodies think the 2.5 is a 68mm throttle body and the s either 72 or 74mm have seen posts where an s throttle body has been installed on a 2.5

Utter bs all three engines 2.5 2.7 and 3.2 have the same 68mm body the 74mm is on the 987

Its not a bad shout to be fair. 10bhp +/- from a manifold swap on an NA car isnt to be sniffed at but nothing like a turbo car where breathing mods brig decent gains.

@@Adeyspec you could 3.4 swap it from an early 996 but it’s a lot of money. Just enjoy driving fast going slow….

@@2ltrrabbit would be an animal with that engine in there. Its not as slow going as the power would suggest though, surprises me when I glance down at the speedo on a run.

@@2ltrrabbit ill be measuring manifold vacuum before doing that. Nothing I've read on the internet for tuning these has been true or as wonderful as sold so far. Id like to prove it needs a bigger tb before hunting one down. 5-20bhp gains are quoted for decats alone, another 5-10bhp for manifolds. up to 5bhp for an underdrive pulley and more again for a K&N filter. Internet maths mean I should have 220+bhp to 240bhp already 😂😂😂😂 so I think it'll be another myth. Unless its a restriction there will be no need for it, if anything a bigger throttle body means the air flow is slower through it. We will see.

You mentioned 20hp gain. Be realistic it’s less than 10hp from the factory spec. Porsche know what they are doing you chucked a load of cash for a tiny gain. If you want more power do what Porsche did and pop in an engine swap for the boxster s 3.2 cheaper and faster

Put the original pulley back on and you will have a gain in hp...
