Never fails to make me feel like I'm having dinner with two people who really appreciate being there.
@WoozlewuzzleableАй бұрын
The problem with omakase is that 1 course can be one piece of sushi, for $30 that's ok but omakase is usually $200-$500. Thank you for letting me live vicariously through you and seeing restaurants that I could never go to, I love this channel because it's all about the food and the experience.
@angemaidment5640Ай бұрын
If you’re having that many courses, you probably wouldn’t want more than one piece.
@Emeraldwitch30Ай бұрын
@angemaidment5640 I agree. I was gifted a fancy smancy molecular gastronomy meal for 2 from an old boss who knew I used to be a chef, and he absolutely hated that boojie crap(his words) Hubby and I went and while about half the plates were basically one or two bites. But a few were more filling and by tge end of the 25 courses I was pretty full. My big man not so much so of course McDonald's on the way home lol. I'd probably never do it again unless gifted as it was $200 a person pop up type thing. Weirdest part. They refused tips it also came with wine/beer/aperitif but just like one or two sips as you didn't want to get sloshed My favorite was the smoked salmon bite with a cream cheese foam and the little green pearls that looked like eggs/caviar but was made from spring peas and green onions. They made and plated things right on a table in middle with a TV screen for the overhead. It was fascinating to watch but we were there for about 4 hours. Totally not everyone's cup of tea I keep hoping to heal my mouth enough to be able to eat again and go to Japan to eat myself into a food coma in Osaka. It's even got its own word kuidaore.😅

So when you eat sushi you eat 12+sushi/meal? Don’t forget about the ingredients as well
@ggregdАй бұрын
@@sakuraisp6974 12 peces of sushi is just getting warmed up. $30.00 is like 10X the price of a typical restaurant meal in Thailand.

This is so much fun to watch! I was excited when the chef ‘clapped’ the herbs that were part of the appetizer (it’s to release the flavors). Thank you both again for sharing these incredible experiences with us!! What you do is empowering and encouraging in a world that is at odds right now. Thank you. 🙏 ❤

After pretty much watching every video you’ve made and being a subscriber since 200k I think, I can say the most interesting thing (All the food looked delicious) was the coke. So often you go eat and the soft drink itself is $5-$8 so seeing it here for a $1 is amazing.

That tuna with gold foil and gold dust alone would have jacked up the price of the meal to at least twice as much as it was here in the US. What a deal for such a beautiful meal! Mrs. Bacons looked beautiful and happy as usual, too, of course.

Yeah and then they'd demand a tip of atleast 20%, because the business pockets all the money and doesnt pay staff properly

That was horseradish with green dye. Real wasabi is not that spicy/hot
@Emeraldwitch30Ай бұрын
@@deadzioit might have been real. If they were using gold. But usually if using real wasabi they grind it on shark skin board in front of you The real stuff is lovely but quick. A substitute in our household is Japanese giant red mustard microgreens. They have a big wicked wasabi kick too. It's absolutely fun on handroll and roll your own sushi night.
