I'm spanish, born and raised in Madrid. I'm 42, I've been watching football since the times of La Quinta Del Buitre. I'm gonna argue with you about Modric being the best midfielder ever: to me, he is THE BEST FOOTBALL PLAYER EVER. There has never been no one as complete as him, absolute domain of EVERY aspect of the game. Best football player I've ever seen, and more madridista than Santiago Bernabeu and Raúl put together. Luka, please, don't ever retire

It was never about the goals he scored. His greatness lies in his overall ability, from defense to offense. He influences the game when you need him the most. His every move has a bigger purpose. From the first match he played for Real Madrid, I knew he would be an all-time great player. Having seen players like Riquelme, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Pirlo, Xavi, Iniesta, and other great midfielders in their prime, I can confidently say that he will always be the first-choice player in my team.

For the people saying Modric doesnt score much goals. He generates them. His vision and passing are the real deal. Also when he scores, the goal is majestic as proven in the video.
