Bryan Holmes was an amazing and underrated drummer. While not as flashy, he had all the skills of Stewart Copeland of The Police in his prime - AND he managed to play his dynamic and complex parts while singing background harmony vocals. This was a great band!

Back 5 years later.... with another comment. The drums aint no joke on this tune. They all are very good but it's the total package of how this song develops and the chorus is so nice. 80s synth rock/pop.... magical times.

In high school in Baton Rouge in the early 1980’s, the Producers were THE band to see. L.S.U. student radio station KLSU had them and the U.S. Times featured in an all-day concert they put on at the old Alex Box Stadium, home of LSU’s baseball team…incredibly fun!!!😎

Kyle put an end to The Producers. But 3 of them live here in Atlanta area. They have done some reunion shows over the last 10 years. I was ask to play drums with Van Temple in his band Reasons Y. But I was already in a steady band and could not do it. About a year later The Producers started their reunion shows. A choice well made. But still love seeing them.

Saw these guys in Austin,TX in 1983 and became an instant fan. They rocked the house with great musicianship, clean harmonies and really good songs like this power pop classic. A particular treat was watching Wayne Famous bounce and bob around the stage wearing that keyboard. His expressions and almost comic enthusiasm reminded me of Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen. They were and still are awesome.

@@joesassenberger Hi Joe, hoping you can help me. I bought the double album on CD of "The Producers / You Make the Heat" for 50 bucks on Amazon, but the last 6 songs weren't readable. I returned the CD and got another, but the last 4 songs weren't readable. The CD is great. It was released in 2000, and both albums were remastered and it sounds really good. So I found the last 4 songs in MP3 form on Amazon, but those are crap sounding, and iTunes won't let me put them all in the same album. I'm wondering of you have .wav versions of the songs: You make the Heat, Merry Go Round, Chinatown, and Domino. It's been arduous to say the least trying to just listen to one of my old favorite bands from the '80s. Thanks

A great band with every member contributing to the vocal responsibilities, and each a master of their instruments! Loved so many of their songs, like: "Domino", "What's He Got", and of course this song "Sheila". I hear they still play out sometimes. Really wish they would come to North Carolina again... This song is IMO one of the better examples of complex pop music from the early 80s, the bass, keys, and drums might make you think this band has prog rock leanings :) ... and there is much more on those two early albums, especially on "You Make the Heat".
