I had the pleasure of playing with these guys for a month and a half in 79 and I can tell you besides being incredible musicians they have so much kindness in their hearts.

Great harmonizing + guitar + drumming + singing + stage presence + energy. Yes I was a fan of theirs way back then. Watching this now I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find a better power pop band (ever).

I have all four of their CDs. It's a mystery to me that they weren't topping the charts at the time; great songwriting, great singing and musicianship, and a high energy live show.

Same thoughts here. Really confusing how these guys didn’t make it big like The Cars. Their songs are super catchy and fun to sing. Kinda sad, but the music business doesn’t make sense sometimes.

One of the greatest power pop songs ever. A staple on MTV back in 82 I think but never made it big on the radio as it did not make the top 40. Very similar to the Romantics "What I like about you" at the time as that never made it big either. The difference was the Romantics song became a cult classic thanks to exposure on TV, commercials and movies while this song never got that chance. I bought the album just for this song as I could not find the 45 single at the time. Played it at all our college parties and it was a big hit with everyone.

I lived in Midtown Atlatna back in the '80s when the Agora Ballroom, Weekends and Club 688 were staples for bands like the Producers, The Basics, The Brains, REM and Athens bands. It was simply one helluva time to be alive for the music. Kyle Henderson was known for his "hat" and often could be found playing in 3-4 different bands. I knew Brian through a friend. Great band that should have been HUGE. Wonderful, kind guys who enjoyed what they did. The club scene ain't the same now.

What makes this video perfect is capturing the 80's unedited and raw. If you're making a film of this time period...snag the dress and hair of the ladies...what was it about UCLA blue that guys liked? John Elephante from Kansas during this time period wore an all blue jump suit, same colors...what a stamp of time!

Takes me back to happy/adventurous memories of my high school senior year. I miss those days. I wish these guys would tour again and make it to Texas. Great musicians, but it seems to me that they were pretty much "chewed up and spit out" by their record label.

They had a complete third album that was recorded and ready to go. Their label's (can't remember who) catalog was purchased by another label (again, can't remember who), and they shelved the whole thing and wouldn't release it. The Producers offered to buy it back and were denied. I heard a number of the tunes live when Tim Smith was playing bass. They were good tunes...

A great stage ambiance - full of energy & expressiveness. An incredible album that showcased such a variety of different sounds for one band. Each had / has talent vocally & are virtuosos in the four primary instruments of what it takes to ROCK. Nowadays, all you can tell anyone not having lived in the decadent 1980's is "Once upon a time . . . there was music . . . ." versus the clap-trap gagging GaGa crap that suffuses our echo of the Roman Empire for a society. The Producers ~ sigh.
