After making a video on 7x7 chess, the logical next step was to try playing chess on a 9x9 board. Here's how it went.

In the second game Lemon was winning. He didn’t need to give up on your light squared bishop. If he pushed that D-pawn one move earlier instead of desperado-ing the bishop, his bishop would have been saved

Chess but pieces arent snapped to the grid Diagonal moves end up in exact numbers instead of multiplied by sqrt2, you can only move by an integer amount of squares, though the pieces don't have to be exactly aligned to the grid. Knights move 2 squares (jump) in any of the 22.5°C angles. Piece hitboxes are a circular with diameter of 0.5 tiles (a chessboard square assumed as 1 tile) to allow certain pieces to move inbetween other pieces so the off grid thing actually matters Every piece spawns on-grid but after moves they aren't snapped to the grid As a bonus: if a p8ece captures another piece the capturing piece is snapped to the location of the captured piece, allows for offsets for rooks lol

Idea: chess but you can combine and separate pieces. For example you can move your queen into your knight and get a piece that moves like a queen and a knight. Or you can move with the queen, and separate the rook from the queen on the next turn

I think he means that you can merge pieces but also have the option to un-merge them like you have a queen-knight and you need the queen-half to keep defending a rook-bishop but you also need to capture the opponents blundered queen with the knight half you could un-merge them, something like that

- Chess 2.0: No complications and just 4 new changes: 1- The board is now 10 by 10!! Instead of 8 by 8 2- Added 2 new pieces: Silver general : moves diagonally and straight forward infinitely Gold general : moves vertically and horizontally and diagonally forward infinitely Setup changes : silver general is next to the king and gold general is next to the queen 3- promotion system changes!!: Now promotion feels a little bit meaningful and strategic!!! Now promotion of pawns may happen in the first and last 4 ranks!! (1,2,3,4) for black pawns promotion & (7,8,9,10) for white pawns promotion Promotion is restricted by these specific rules: - Rank 4 & 7 : pawns may promote to knight and bishop - Rank 3 & 8 : pawns may promote to knight,bishop and silver general and rook - Rank 2 & 9 : pawns may promote to knight,bishop,silver general,rook and gold general - Rank 1 & 10: pawns can promote to all pieces but not the kings 4- Special moves changes!!: - Now castling is performed by moving the king 3 squares to the left or to the right instead of 2!! - Now the pawn can advance for up to 3 squares in the starting position!! - Now enpassant can be performed if a pawn passed through enemy pawn wether by 3 squares or 2!! ( The same method is performed!)

Make a build Chess, in which each piece can target a direction to create more tiles. The tiles reduce the enemy reach to 2.

Is't castling king side awful(right side with white)? Since both knight are at the right side and both bishops pointing there too while castling left makes your king really hard to attack
