this was the golden age of kids movies that had little jokes and easter eggs for the adults watching. Now nobody wants to add this stuff in for fear the parents will want to speak to their managers because they "tainted their babies mind!!!" God i miss stuff like this, i was the kid and now being in my 20's these little things bring me back for a rewatch.

@@pavloszimbrakos4410 flip phones were trendy but didn’t become the norm until mid to late 2000s I’d say (and then got replaced by smartphones). This movie came out in 2002. Look up what cell phones were popular in that year. Most of them looked like that. (And having a blackberry wasn’t super common at the time unless you were rich and/or used it for work). A kid like Carmen would *absolutely* have a cell phone that looked like that, and it would be her most prized possession because getting one was a big deal.
