I went with the sg1603 brushless myself,awesome little truck,been running mine on my 2s drone lipo's😁gonna order them shocks now I've seen them,I wasn't sure they'd be any good but they look like they make all the difference😁

Tomley, turn the motor mount around and you can fit a 124019 pinion on it perfectly! 😉

I am buying a ud1603 i wanna take the old motor out which is a 16T pinion what engine can i put in i was thinking a 25T can that have a 16t pionion on it to connect to a 38T spur gear what esc an servo will go with the 25T motor

Man’s got skills 👍🏻 I find it easier on a smooth surface to turn speed down & have half gyro, horses for courses Thank for the shocks link, been waiting for some of these, glad I didn’t get the Tamiya ones now 😎👍🏻

It wasn’t until I decided to try drift RC’s that I put the plastic drift tires on again and wow these are great drifters. Just ordered a brushless one oh ya!

Been waiting for this. I still love mine. I did a mod to the front bumper and rear defuzer and mounted the CEN Fiat body from that little monster truck. The bumper/ diffuser snap back into place with magnets and the 1/16th bodies go back on. Chibbs the cat prefers the drift setup. LOL we give blood to do this hobby

Hi Phil, your work shop is coming along nicely mate. 😉 Oh yes the brushless version looks quite a lot better then the brushed version doesn’t it, your right with a little I think it would definitely go a bit quicker, 30mph maybe but even 30 feels quicker then normal in these cool little models, nice bit of drifting there too, I’m really tempted but trying not to spend anything and saving for a new vinyl plotter, speaking of vinyl you know where to come bud if you want any or your workshop walls or doors etc👍Happy rcing mate, have a good week.

Great impromptu Vid! You left the best bit till last.... I have just fitted similar shocks to my SG1603 Pro after a 1st go outside, it was bouncing everywhere made it hard to keep straight with the Gyro fighting it, was good on drift wheels but defo need smoother surface given the scale. Very envious of your fresh painted workshop floor space! 😀 I'd be drifting everynight!

Seriously though, can you tell me if the plastic diffs on the brushed version are strong enough to take a brushless upgrade.? I did a brushless upgrade on a ZD Racing desert buggy & it literally lasted 5 minutes.!

I made mine brushless and couldn't get on with it. Cogged when it started, and was a pig to control compared to stock brushed. That is with the UDI RC upgrade kit too. If you want to see the gyro over reacting, turn it to max and gun it. On a tarmac surface it can't drive straight as it corrects its own over corrections continuously!

@@TomleyRC could be, I didn't keep it long enough to see. Prefer the torque and control of it with a brushed system, it's plenty quick enough and allows for really controlled drifting.

nice i might grab those shocks i got one of the infraction lookalikes brushed i had to repaint the ugly shell i enjoy looking at it now. As for the brushless looks like im not missing much thx.

I’ve heard that the brushed has more accurate throttle control and the brushless has a bit of a dead zone at the bottom end of the trigger movement then you get a load of power, so the brushed is better for drifting. Do you have any thoughts on that having both versions?

Brushed motors, as a whole, tend to have more fine control over brushless. That's almost their only advantage over brushless.

I noticed there's difference in control with my Traxxas Rally with stock brushed vs VXL brushless. Not sure if it's related to the esc but even by bashing around, I feels my car with brushed motor gives smoother acceleration and control which make it more pleasant to want. The reason why I switched to brushless motor is the brushed motor very easy to get overheat that it was dead after just few non continuous hours of bashing.

Find the sweet spot instead of using the throttle on/off mine drifts lovely around quarter throttle. Just need to get used to steering it in every where then

Can you fix the steering? Which better servos? Sometimes it does not center again after turning...common problem with these.

Should try getting a micro speedo so that way it doesn’t get weighed down by phone just saying weight helps that car says 60kph-37mph they don’t account for that extra weight

From what I’ve seen on my others, the diffs are just very tight. I loosened my others when I was doing a speed run

gyro's purpose to counter steer. get 2s lipo 50c and it would run great with stock ESC

Be careful running this on lipo, several reports of the system going poof with anything but the stock battery..... I have been sitting on the brushless upgrade kit for months, umming and arring about installing it.....
