A-Basin, The Legend
The Lazy J Tow is a rope tow that provides access between Montezuma Bowl and Lenawee Express and Beavers Chairlifts.
This rope tow is for Intermediate, Advanced and Expert skiers only. There is no beginner terrain accessible from this rope tow.
The Lazy J Tow is located at 12,434 feet above sea level and moves the skier 374 feet while rising 6 feet. This is a much appreciated assist at this elevation.
Since the Lazy J Tow is located at the summit of A-Basin you use different combinations of all lifts to move from the base area to tow. The most straight forward access is via Black Mountain Express to Lenawee Express chairlifts. The tow is located just to the right of the upper terminal of the Lenawee Express chairlift.
Using the tow is as simple as positioning yourself next to the moving rope and grasping it with one or both hands. When you reach the end of the tow, simply let go of the rope and step away.
The view of the surrounding mountains is spectacular making for a very enjoyable transfer.
