A Bayer Leverkusen fan wakes from a 1 year coma! The year is 2023 and Bayer Leverkusen are in the relegation zone in the Bundesliga. Fast forward 1 year and Xabi Alonso has guided Leverkusen to the top of the Bundelisga 8 points clear ahead of Bayern Munich. Will they finally win the Bundesliga?

I remember there was a German KZfaqr who said Leverkusen would win the league before the season started. Everybody obviously made fun of him but now it seems like he was on to something. It would be one of the legendary stories only football can write. Leverkusen, the team who was unable to win any trophies at all being the one team to stop Bayern's unprecedented winning series.

I only turned out to be a Leverkusen fan many years ago when i wanted to play the bundesliga carrer mode in FIFA 15 and had to choose a team, i picked Leverkusen because i enjoyed their color scheme and uniform and managed to make them champions with a comfortable advantage over Bayern Munich, fiction turning into reality nearly a decade later xD

When I first played FIFA (FIFA 23), I picked Liverpool because I like their kits, and they were one of the only teams I actually knew at the time. I was playing player career mode, by the way.

@@Jenni389 iirc Leverkusen at that time weren't that bad at all, they even managed to win the Europa league a few years earlier, and that still remains as their only major trophy in their history, who knows if they'll get a second one this year too haha

But in this game I was first in Bundesliga, won the DFB-Pokal and Ulf Kirsten was the player with the most goals in Bundesliga - and after that (and winning against my father and sister) I was sold for life for this club. 😎

@@HemishGD it's a total possibility he would come to anfield but not at he end of this season. If Leverkusen doesn't bottle Bundesliga and wins it while winning europa league over liverpool. Then there is no doubt xabi will give it a shot in 24/25 season end even if they doesn't win anything in Europe in 2025 but reaches big stages like ucl semis or finals while winning domestic trophies he would definitely give another shot on 25/26 season only then i could see him leaving Leverkusen . No hate to liverpool and it's fans but logically thinking it's completely impossible for xabi to join LFC this summer, you have to find somebody else.

I am sorry but in short if Leverkusen wins Bundesliga and europa league this season , goes to UCL semis or finals next season and wins another domestic title than xabi wouldn't even be leaving at the end of 24/25 season. And if Leverkusen continues to wins trophies every season and achieves bigger stages like UCL semis it's very unlikely xabi would leave to join LFC . A very bottle situation, dispute with the board, sacking, or a bad season is the only way he would leave and join LFC. But those circumstances are very unlikely

When we moved to a new house in 2013, my brother has a Bayer Leverkusen poster above his bed, which is still intact till this day. We found it funny that Leverkusen was actually founded by the employees of Bayer, the pharmaceutical company.. hence its nickname "Die Werkself" which translates to "the factory's team". Leverkusen finished above Bayern in 2010-2011 as far as I remember.. but got demolished by Barcelona in the 2011-2012 Champions League. I remember them having Reinartz, Rolfes, Lars Bender, Kadlec, Castro, Kießling, and a young Leno in the team. I won't call myself a Leverkusen fan, but they are my favorite Bundesliga club.

True I think it’s probably unlikely that they’ll lose at home to Stuttgart it’ll be a difficult game they’ll go away to Dortmund which there’s probably a higher chance that they lose that I would say I think that could possibly be their first defeat of the season but you feel if they are to lose this season it’s one of those 2 games or both

A coma episode where a River Plate fan woke up from a 13 year come when we were relegated would be funny as hell. Last seeing your team get relegated despite being one of the biggest clubs in the world, and then waking up and having won two Libertadores, more league titles, a lot of players like Trezeguet and Ponzio coming back to help River get back into 1st division and having sold players like Julián Álvarez, Enzo Fernández, Gonzalo Montiel and Lucas Beltrán to European teams.
