Hey, how's everyone doing?
End of August, I went to Oporto alone. I had this need to go somewhere and be alone.
I wanted to remind myself of how strong I am. And of course, creative ideas started flowing. Here’s a short film I made while traveling alone in Oporto, Portugal.

I don’t live in Portugal, I used to live near Portugal but I’m in Madrid now. Hopefully I can travel more again and do these type of videos ☺️

This was pretty cool. I saw some other city videos on your channel. You should do more with 'this' style of editing (and you also filmed more places in Porto). I'm not from Porto, but I'm portuguese and travelled to maaaany places....but Porto is top 3 cities for me. It just has a special mystique and your video really captured it for sure. All the best :)

hello, thank you so much for this. I think the difference with this video to my currents one is that I don’t solo travel anymore, I’m always with people (I’m less shy now haha). I thought about doing something similar but it’s just weird to leave out those I’m with, so now it’s kinda like short film but with other people in it haha Tbh I can’t believe I shot and edited this haha

Come to think of it, they really value the beauty of their skyline. No building rises to ruin the scenery of the place, and everything is so uniform that no structure overshadows one another. Hope to see another vlog of yours Ellen 😍

thank you Maria! I was living in a small town at the time and with COVID restrictions it was pretty difficult to travel. After getting the news of my placement(Madrid) the idea of moving back to the city sounded scary, I needed a reminder that I’ll be fine and why I went to Oporto! Haha

hahaha i filmed this early in the morning and always checking if anyone’s coming (#1 I was embarrassed #2 someone might steal my phone hahaha) yeah but it isn’t like Manila. I wouldn’t and I don’t think I can haha but yeah it is pretty safe in Oporto ☺️❤️ imagine worrying about filming as something embarrassing and not because someone might steal it no, grabe talaga!

Yea filming in public has got to be a little nerve-wracking/extreme self-consciousness, especially setting up the camera and then walking in front of the camera, like a not-meant-to-be-seen performance for the people around you. Thanks for having the courage to do that and make this. It’s unique, and lovely.

OMG so jelly!! You get to travel to all these great places. Portugal looks amazing. The streets still look so empty. Was it early in the day on a Sunday or is still b/c of Covid? Ooo that bookstore is awesome like something out of Harry Potter! I wish I could move to Paris where my step family lives and then travel to other parts of Europe. I know filming in public lol 🤣 loved watching this! 👍 and new subbie from NYC I hope we can connect I am excited to see more of your travels! 😊 💕

i filmed this on a Monday morning, around 8-9, the bookstore was packed already at 9, it’s actually one of Harry Potter’s inspiration that’s why it’s so popular. I had to wait for an hour and a half to get it haha thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️

Hi! I still can’t believe I managed to film all this alone, it was quite an adventure haha I’d say the secret to it is going out early so it’s not crowded. I used this small tripod I got off Amazon for 15€ it’s like a gorilla pod but a cheaper and smaller version. I liked how I can hang it and wrap its leg on poles haha I broke it a year later

Hola Jenny! Yes, I filmed almost everything with my phone. I used Final Cut Pro but now with Adobe Premiere Pro. Thank you, I really enjoy filming and editing, really happy I could share my works to people. Thank you!

hi! Thank you! I took a train from Valença, Portugal. I crossed the border by car. They didn't ask for any covid cert on the train but in the hostel, you need to show it. I love this so much! I was born in the Philippines as well, my mother being from there, I am heavily researching places to study in English over in Spain/Portugal.
