@@JohnDoe-dr9ff no. And it's genuinely awful on console, tons of crashes, none of the PC QoL improvements to the UI, and general performance issues out the wahzoo. Oh, and the console map generator is way worse than the PC version. If you are purposely hunting a wonder start on console you HAVE to remove at least 2 to 4 City States and reroll the map at least 10 times.

But in all honesty, a lot of people cry over spilled blood.... It hurts. 😉😀

Yeh... they didnt have Blake on this one (guy who did the AIs in IV). That's exactly how Tokugawa was. Borders touch? WAR! You won a war? "Please be my friend! I'll give you anything! I'll even be your vassal!" CIV by far the best Civ game ever made. Shame, cuz I like CiVI features.

It was kind of funny because that happened in one of my first runs of Civilization 6. Japan declared war on me. So I held the line, defended off his forces but he wouldn't accept a peace deal without me giving up half my empire. So I took a single city from him and got him to peace out. From that point forward for the rest of the game (From the Classical Era on) I was being chain denounced by every AI player for being a Warmonger and could never fix the diplomacy due to that. For being war decced and doing the bare minimum I needed to do to get a white peace...

That's pretty funny, I've wondered what happens on the TSL map if you play with Ottomans and Byzantines since their capital is the same place. I would test it myself but I don't have New Frontier.

@@drewramey5095 I played a TSL Arabia game ages ago and captured Egypt's settler on turn one.

@@drewramey5095 I haven't tried with those specific civs, but if two civs have the same capital irl, they both spawn near the TSL and then the first one to get a turn gets the capital location and name. I have played the game with 2 different versions of France (Eleanor and Catherine) and if Eleanor goes first, she gets Paris in the TSL spot and Catherine settles somewhere nearby with a capital of a different irl French city, like Rennes or Lyon.

he knows the settler is (essentially) always the best one, but going for other things makes things interesting.

Also, the free Settler was likely gone at that point. The AI almost ALWAYS picks it first and if you look at, both the civs in the game and the little of the Pantheon list we were shown (Desert Folklore was already gone, meaning 2 AIs likely had their pantheons already), I don't think the free Settler was ever an option. Even with that free Relic and Kandy's Suzerain bonus, some civs (especially Deity AIs) just *print* Faith.

​@@LAZERAK47V2 if you go back and check the settler one was still there. It's only on screen for like a frame at 4:59 but it's still there.

Given how his game is going the free settler doesn't matter too much at that point, what he needs is a way to get more yields and he is generating enough early game gold & production that getting settlers isn't too difficult. He probably should have gotten a pantheon that gave him extra culture from plantations really to help his low culture.

I guess the actual saving grace might be the fact that Georgia is at war with the Cree. Hope this war will be bloody and last long.

@@Jaguara-zi7bz Hopefully. I miss the feature from Civ 5 being able to bribe AI to attack someone without having to engage in war as well. Would likely be helpful here.

The best thing is that after he has crippled the closest foe, he now has tons of space to expand - so if he spends the next 30 turns mass producing settlers, he can gain the upperhand simply by having more cities (and better cities) that the enemy. It of course requires him to be friends with the neighbors so they wont attaack him with musketmen while he has archers and spearmen.

@Malte Those are the three I play with. I’ve never tried card shuffle or zombies. I don’t think I will ever do the zombies but just as I am typing this comment I am thinking I will try the card shuffle mode in my next game. Having typically later game technology sooner is interesting, though I wonder what the impact will be on getting boosts. Have you tried the tech tree shuffle mode? If so, what was your experience in terms of the boosts?

I tried Zombies several times and never enjoyed it. Never tried shuffle mode though. Have to try heroes mode and tragic times mode.

Agree about aztecs, i find them so easy to win with on deity. Most powerful of the original base game Civs IMO, being able to get free builders plus use them to rush districts is so powerful..

I have the same problem as Potato. I verified my game files and it keeps crashing when finish my turns.

@@pieroortiz8479 I had to disable anti-aliasing and leader animations. Works ok now but a bit less fun to be honest.

I enter menu, go to hotkeys, the first hotkeys you replace it with shift+the real hotkeys, do It again and then replace with the original one, always work for me, try it and tell me later

All of the real-world maps also have non-TSL versions where the map itself is the same but you can play any civ and the start locations are random. That's what Potato is playing here.

Easy since he didn't use the TSL Large Mediterranean Map, but the Large Mediterranean Map.

In the long run getting production has become a little easier, but nothing major. Most notiably preserves give production with sanctuarys now, so you have a lot more production in culture games, reducing the need for industrial zones. Quarries and lumber mills got buffed at some point, but that was a while ago. Getting a religion has become a bit easier, so work ethic plays are more viable now. Potato is rather fund of industrial zones. But a industrial zone heavy play style is a specific economic play style, there you most likely give up a couple of comercial hubs, harbours and holy sites for. Its not bad and you end up with lots of strong independed citis, but you will sacrifice gold and faith income for it. In the end it come down to prefrence, do you want not a single object in your city that takes longer then 8 turns to build or do you want a gold income, that allows you to purchase everything essential for your game.
