But fortunately British came.....thanks to there democracy minoritiesPPL (non relegion PPL also) can right to speak unlike Iran and saudi Arabia........ here PPL are not shut down by some sort of god....... I can assure you in any democratic country all sort of religion people are growing in past decade (take US,Uk ,EU,INDIA nad your favourite enemy isreal just check it in Google).....just give me where are the Persians, Christian population growth rate in past 10yrs in the middle East..!!!!! ..... Fun fact: in islam there are some islamic scholars who claim that Zoroaster might be an islamic prophet. The teachings of Zoroastrian are *very* similar to those of islam considering that in some of the texts there are mention Ahlu al bayt ( you can search it) and almost identical descriptions and characteristics of Allah (God). It is important to note that allah didn’t reveal all of the prophets to his last messenger prophet muhammad. It is mentioned in the Quran that there was a huge number of prophets “ a prophet for every community” so the number might range in thousands.

The main theme of Zoroastrian is self purification through, Good Thoughts, Good Deeds and Good Words and following Asha (Truth, the law of Mother nature). Zoroastrian is not about worshiping fire, it is about respect, self enlightenment, self purification, self responsibility and owning the fruits of your action. It is about being Good for sake of Goodness. It is about doing the best to create the best society. You become friend of force of creation and create good things. You give human rights, equality of men and women, races, all religions are respected, as long as they promote good life for their followers. Fire is symbol of light, energy, equal warmth to all and a light in total darkness. Fire was one of the Gods before Zoroaster, but keeping fire in a cold country was something to preserve. If fire is not controlled it will burn everything, but once you control it, it is source of life. You have to control the fire inside and use it to build, instead of destruction. Stop tagging Zoroastrians as fire worshipers, it just shows how little you know.

Our Founding Father’s (USA) were very well read, and I was introduced to Zoroaster by John Adams in his influential essay, “Thoughts on Government”, written in 1776. The system of government that they devised, and that we still use today, was influenced by their understanding of great writers throughout all of history, including spiritual leaders like Zoroaster, Confucius, and Mahomet, as well as the great philosophers, Socrates, Milton, and Montesquieu. Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and Adams could easily quote from great men throughout antiquity without translations in Latin, Greek, Spanish and French. This includes lesser known greats like James Otis and John Dickinson. I am ashamed to compare our Founding generation (18th century) to our current one.

Zoroastrians had a much larger influence than that. Zoroastrianism had a SIGNIFICANT influence on all three Abraham of religions, including Judaism. Jews were under Persian rule for almost 12 centuries. During this time, there was a significant Persian influence. The Sadducees criticized the Pharisees for being “Persianizers”. Some Talmud Scholars actually theorize that Pharisees is derived from Farsi (Persian). The Talmud has over 300 Iranian loan words and there is a massive Zoroastrian influence there, especially regarding demonology. Talmud mentions Zoroastrian Magi more than it does of Jesus itself. One Example: Ashmedai is derived from Aeshma Deava. In fact, the Babylonian Talmud was written in Persia. Babylon was apart of Persia at that time, the Sassanian Persians ruled Babylon. Persians have ruled Babylon for almost a millennia since Cyrus the Great conquered it. It would be more accurate to say the Talmud was written and composed in Sassanid Persia. You can clearly see a stark difference in the beliefs of pre Babylonian exile Israelites and after. Zoroastrianism inspired the polytheist Hebrews to become monotheistic. Zoroastrianism of the Gathas was the first monotheistic religion in human history. Zoroastrians have their own concepts of a “chosen people” and a “promised land”. There is an idea in Zoroastrianism that Ahura Mazda, or the Lord of Wisdom, promised the Land of Iran to the Zoroastrians after a cataclysmic Ice Age event pushed the Zoroastrians out of Airyanem Vaejah. In Zoroastrianism, Airyanem Vaejah is the most perfect land created by Ahura Mazda, and it was the first of all the lands he created. In Zoroastrianism, there is the “Eran” and “Aneran” dichotomy, and in Judaism, there is the “Israelite” and “Gentile” dichotomy. Jacob Neusner has already shown that the Zoroastrian laws governing interactions between “Eran” and “Aneran” are identical to the Talmudic laws governing interactions between “Israelites” and “Gentiles”. In fact, Rabbinic Law is identical to Zoroastrian Law in all facets of life from marriage, money, raising children, purity laws, etc. Just look up how Parsis operate. They are the same. Jacob Neusner went as far to say that no two religions have more in common than Zoroastrianism and Judaism. In Zoroastrian texts, the quintessential “Aryan” look is hooked noses, pale skin, jet-black hair, and green/hazel eyes. In Zoroastrianism, that is the quintessential look of an Iranian (“Aryan”/ “Eran”). Zoroastrianism was a religion that was originally meant for Iranians only. You had to be Iranian to be Zoroastrian. In fact, the purity of the blood was of utmost importance during the ancient Persian Empires. Mixed marriages have always been looked at with disgust in Zoroastrianism, and Zoroastrianism has strict rules to keep the Iranian population homogenous. The ancient Zoroastrian clergy enforced these rules throughout all the Persian empires to help Iranians remain pure and maintain “Asha” or “cosmic order”. This is where the practice of “Xwedodah” was born to literally keep racial purity of Iranians. In Zoroastrianism, there is a term called “Boonak-Pasbaani” which literally means “purity of the blood or seed (toknam)”. Modern day Parsis have dropped the practice of “Boonak-Pasbaani” to increase their numbers. However, non-Zoroastrians and children of mixed Zoroastrian heritage are still not allowed into Zoroastrian temples. There is more scholarly work and research being done on this, but Zoroastrians are believed to have heavily influenced rabbinic Judaism. In Zoroastrianism, there is a paternal line while in Judaism, there is a maternal line. Jewish eschatology is strikingly similar to that of the Zoroastrian one. The concept of a “messiah”, a savior is believed to be of Zoroastrian origin. The concept of “Good vs Evil” is also Zoroastrian. The oldest Torah ever found was carbon dated to a time AFTER the Jewish people were in contact with the Zoroastrians. The Pentateuch (Five Books of Moses which are the Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy) were written during the Persian Period (539-331BC). In fact, it is a theory that the Persian Zoroastrians themselves authorized the creation of the Torah to assimilate the polytheist Canaanites. Although academia has done its best to erase and completely wipe out all of Persian history and Zoroastrianism to keep the sham that is abrahamic religions going. It doesn’t help that 90% of Zoroastrian texts, including the oldest ones, were destroyed by Alexander of Macedonia and later the Arabic Islamic conquerors. The modern Zoroastrian holy texts of today are a fifth of what the original one was, and from this fraction of the original texts, we can see the striking similarities. My Sources are all from peer-reviewed academic journals and research databases. All the sources have been published in the last two decades, they are all up to date www.jstor.org/stable/10.2979/prooftexts.33.3.381 www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwjoo-P3vq_2AhVOTd8KHfftCnY4ChAWegQIChAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jstor.org%2Fstable%2F25654606&usg=AOvVaw1knabellxpA4354GgxE-6P www.academia.edu/41617347/Zoroastrian_Influence_on_Post_Exilic_Jewish_Belief_and_Practice www.upenn.edu/pennpress/book/15179.html
@alexrivera33742 жыл бұрын
@David Majority of the Jewish population in the world lived in Persia between 600 BC and 600 AD, but it was definitely not ALL Jewish people. Important Jewish centers like Babylon were under continuous Persian rule for centuries, but the Land of Israel was NOT under Persian rule for a good chunk of time. And the oldest Zoroastrian texts founded are quite recent as well. It is true that Persia influenced all three abrahamic religions, but it is far fetched to claim that the Torah itself was influenced by Persia. The Persian influence is evident in the Talmud and later Jewish writings, not the Tanakh.

The Magi and the prophet Zoroaster (Zarathustra) has always been an element in western culture from way back.In many operas like those of Handel and Mozart there is a figure called Sarastro who is seen as a wise and benign white magician.He appears as such in Mozart's opera the "Magic Flute" where his opponent is the evil queen of the Night.There is also a mid eighteenth century French opera called Zoroastre by Jean Phillipe Rameau -one of the greatest of French composers.The work has been revived recently in many opera houses and I have a DVD of a Swedish production -it is very beautiful! Then the great German philosopher Nietzsche wrote "Thus Spake Zarathustra" which was set to music by Richard Strauss and opens up with that magnificent drumroll and fanfare which represents the prophet Zoroaster viewing the sunrise from a mountain peak.This music was used in the Stanley Kubrick film "2001 a Space Odyssey" and when the Indian company Tata(who are Parsees) launched a new mini-car in India they used the Richard Strauss theme in the background -a person in the know like myself identified the musical reference immediately!

It is not a mystery to find Parsis(followers of Zoroastrianism) in India. When Islam started spreading to Iran they were driven out by Muslims, hence the Parsis came to India as refugees, and the liberal broad minded Hindus allowed them to settle down and also allowed them to practise their religion. These events are well documented in history.

IN old Persian they were called magus and it is mentioned first by Darius the great in behistun inscriptions . Later on it took another name after Arab Conquest and became majoos . Good account but something most be pointed out, when Zoroastrianism was a dominant religion in Persia they encouraged people to convert to their faith and they didn't have a problem with conversions and in fact Zarathustra like any other Prophet wanted people to adopt his religion. However, when Persia was conquest most people were forced to become Muslim and many Zoroastrian fire temples were burned to the ground, as well as their many holy books, which forced Zoroastrians to leave Persia and move to India (they would be consider today as refugees). India agreed to give them sanctuary as long as they kept a low profile, which means they couldn't spread their faith. Back to Iran, when Zoroastrianism was reduced to nearly irrelevance, the Islamic authorities came to tolerate Zoroastrians as long as they didn't try to convert Muslims into their religion (a crime punished even by dead in the Islamic Republic). My point is that Zoroastrians don't have a "suicidal" mentality regarding conversions or interracial marriages because they are narrow minded but rather as the result of an extreme historical context that forced them to accept to become a tiny cast in order to survive at all. What surprises me is the reluctance of the modern Zoroastrian priests to accept conversions even in the XXI century. I have no doubts that many people would convert, specially Iranians who are fed up with Islam and feel Zoroastrianism represents better the rich Persian history and culture. If Zoroastrian priests accepted conversions I have no doubt that this religion would survive and thrive, but apparently this priests prefer to see their faith dying than accept converts.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is another obstacle. while Zoroastrianism is constitutionally protected in Iran the IRGC tries to downplay its influence in Iran as to appeal to the larger global Islamic community. Much of the Sunni Arab bias towards Shia is that they are Persophiles and apostates who are more predisposed to pre-Islamic Persian culture. I think with the recent protests as well as ISIL and the recent alignment with Orthodox Christians in Russia and the Middle East will lead the country away from Islam and closer towards Zoroastrianism. But still a ways down the line

With respect the exegesis of that text doesn’t deny Jesus’ deity. Jesus claims to be God and is written of by the Apostles to be God, the one God and Creator of all things. Jesus even claims to be God after His resurrection, so if Jesus says He’s God I believe then the exegesis of that passage quotes can not be intended as such.

They were conquest by the Muslim Arabs in the 7th century and forced by the point of the sword to gradually to accept Islam. After that there was little to do since even today leaving Islam is considered an act of "apostasy" and punished by death, that's why Islam is such a tight and controlling political system. And that's how Islam works: forcing people by the sword to convert to Islam and then forbidden them to leave Islam. That's why there won't be a revival of Zoroastrianism in Iran. However, Kurdistan is experiencing a phenomenon of conversions to Zoroastrianism after the atrocities committed by ISIS pushed many Muslims to leave Islam, but I'm not sure how far will that go.

Hindus could stop throwing bodies into the rivers as vultures cant swim and water gets polluted. Its nice of them to think of the crocs though. Many of the things you have mentioned here are related to a later version of Zoroastrianism practiced during and after the Sassanid dynasty of Persia. The only text remaining of prophet zoroaster himself is believed to be the Gathas and none of the things mentioned on the video except the belief in good thoughts, good words and good deeds and the possibility for humans to understand goodness through logic are found in that text meaning that they have been added later. This doesn't mean that your account is wrong though, it simple means that there are two different versions of the religion in the world.

Avesten old persian is actually considered a dialect of sanskrit. So India and Iran obviously has a some commen ancestory. well North india i guess because south indians look completely different. You probably belive in that theory that Aryans came into iran and india. Indian religion is much older then that proposed Aryan invasion I've worked on archeological data reviewed it the theory is biased. It only uphold European supremacy. It's complete bull shit because persia was made of different ethnicities so was india. The word Aryan was just a title these people used. I've even provided evidence there were horses native to the indian subcontinent in harrapa before the theorized Aryan invasion. trust me it is nothing but a name and title. that is all. No need to be so hyped up over it. You see the British needed an excuse to let them stay in power they ended climing that indian religion and culture comes from Aryans or europeans from the steppe who brought culture to india. You should know about how munipulative the British are if your Iranian. Iranian revolution etc..., shah, you know histrory...

I am a Hindu Brahmin and let me explain some Zoroastrianism concept to you people 1) It is one of most ancient organized religion together with Vedic Religion. 2) It has belief system of Asha which means Divine Faith. 3) They venerate 4 elements of Nature as aspects of God, we worship 5 the fifth being Sky or Space . 4) The God is one but has definite symbol that is fire and light. In the way that God is light, life and wisdom. 5) The God is abstract and formless. Once Mind should be fixed on God. Similar tenants are so found in Vedic Religion.

Zoroastrianism was founded in Bactria, Afghanistan. Zoroaster was born in Bactria. Of course Bactria was just part of the Persian empire at that time and Bactrians were a tribe, now called Pakhtoons, in Afghanistan. The Aryans. You can say that Iran and Afghanistan are both the land of the Aryans. And plus, Pakhto derives from Avestan. So Avestan still lives on today.

Colin McBride valar dohaeris. But lord of light and many faced god are two different sects. Many faced god represents samsara (avatarism, concept of karma, chakram and such). Of course they are all really trying to explain to you the concept based on the duality (truth) of the nature and where you are suppose to fit in that puzzle. Thats why you have to go all the way back to vedic and sanskrit tongues to really grasp the concept of it.

The zoroastrian funeral rites are like Tibetan funeral rites as they both allow the animals to eat , usually its the birds of the air that they are offered to , the vultures are usually the first on the scene. The bodies are wrapped in a white cloth and placed on a homemade scaffold made of wooden sticks . As they lay on they're backs the body faces the sky and the body will become a part of the vultures body , or any other animal or insect that eats dead things. And the soul returns to the source, as it is energy that cannot be destroyed only relocated . The Tibetans believe the soul is still near the body many days after a person has died. Monks are called to talk to the persons soul and guide them . The Tibetan book of the dead and the Egyptian book of the dead are great books , I read them . I didnt realize how close the zoroastrian rites and the Tibetan rituals were so close till today, thx for this video.
