The price is a deal-breaker, I have a Seiko Mecha Quartz watch that is a Seiko. 100 meters water resistance of 100 meters. Price 150.00 It might be 200 by now. I am not sure, but for 750 dollars, I would expect a mechanical movement, not mecha quartz.

The thing I appreciate most about this watch is that the designers clearly know their stuff and aren't just looking to make a quick buck out of a "fashion item" that happens to be a watch like I feel a lot of micro brands are.

I agree with you on most of the points presented. For me personally the Brand Name and Price Point are the deal breakers. As mentioned, you have to be really in the market for this exact watch. Overall it was a good review and entertaining. I like the toned down version of Jory 🤣🤣

I own this watch (Swedish company, Malm means Ore in Swedish), beautiful beautiful watch. Definitely recommend it, even got a blue leather strap from MALM for it. Keep it coming 3T

MALM or MALMEN is an airfield in Linköping, Sweden and it´s where the name MALM is from. The colections is a collaberation together with divers, pilots from the army in Sweden.

The Catalina was an amphibious aircraft, used in the Swedish Air Force during the 1950ths. In 1952 a Swedish DC-3 recogaissannce aircraft was shot down by russian MIG:s over the Baltic Sea. Two Catalian rescue planes where sent to look for the DC-3. My father was in one of them. One night he was woken up - the other Catalina had been shot down by the Russians. That Catalina sank in the Baltic Sea but the crew was saved by a civil German cargo ship. The DC-3 was never found until 20 years ago - it was then brought to the Swedish Air Force Museum in Linköping and its crew could be laid ro rest. I really would like to save up for this watch because of the connection to my dad. :)

Great video 👍 I talked to the founder of the brand (since I’m Swedish and we were talking about a future collaboration) and the watch is clearly a Oris Carl Brashear Chrono homage. So clearly that it’s almost Steinhart-style if you know what I mean 🤪

I think it's quite a decent timepiece I personally would definitely love to have if I hadn't owned a bronze PAM homage already. Quartz or mechanical is not really a deal breaker to me if I like the watch, cause when you have a few watches (and mechanical eventually stop) sometimes you need something to grab and go and a quartz watch is always there for you.

Nice Looking Time Piece! Unique look! Seiko Quartz - accurate!I like the recessed dials. Simple, Easy to read dial, Screw down crown, date at 6 O’clock position. Good Lume! Registers need Lume!! I like it! However.... the Price? Still..... if I was in the Market - Definitely would Consider!

"Malm" (yes, the L is pronounced) can mean "ore" or be part of a place name (Like Södermalm in Stockholm). It's also a common surname in Sweden. I'm don't actually know which one they based the company name on in this case. (Someone else might know.)

The clock and date are quartz but the cronograph is mechanical. That's what it is you can look for it like the seiko VK63.

Phoibos bronze diver with 500m rating, sapphire crystal. Sellita SW-200 movement and options for meteorite dial, strikes me as a much better deal at $420-$520.

Cool watch, but there's no f'ing way I'd pay that much for a quartz when for the same money, you could get a NH45. Also..agree with the circular date window...maybe if it was framed, it would look more finished. Oh..and I can appreciate your 7.5" wrist because my wrist is the same size. You have the largest wrist of all reviewers I follow so I can see what it will look like on my wrist. Everyone else has scrawny little girly wrists that can rock a max 36mm...sorry, those small watches look goofy on a 7.5" wrist.

Nice watch, and great review. It has some beatiful details as those skeletonisized hands so they don't cover the sub dials, but I think aeronauticals chronos must have a bidirectional bezel, like the Type XX

Just as an FYI, the bronze with green dial is on sale for €450 right now. So €170 off. Not necessarily my cup of tea but I don’t think the price is that big of a deal. Nice watch.

I have a Fotuna with this same Seiko movement and i have had a great experience with it so far. It is a Seiko VK64 or Vk64A i cant remember but it works pretty well.

Couldn't agree more. The date window is a little off putting. If it color matched the dial I'd give it a pass, and if it wasn't there at all it would already be on my credit card. Great watch overall👍

Interesting watch.... at $700 it’s a super tough pill to swallow, especially when the heart is a mecha Quartz. Lots of micro brands, Seiko, OrientStar, and various Swiss pieces in this price range that I feel would easily outcompete at this price point. If you were to stretch a little, you could have a used grand Seiko Quartz piece with the famous 9F movement, and if you were to stretch to around 2k, then you could have a new GS Quartz piece....

Nice looking watch, but a tad too big and way too pricey. I think if it was about $200-250, I would consider it. The other thing is that the company is named after a line of Ikea furniture, I don't want people to think I bought the watch at Ikea.

I don't really see the point in having a threaded crown. Surely they could achieve the same water resistance without it. I think the quality of the handset lets the watch down a bit. They're super flat and look kinda cheap. The lack of a running seconds hand would probably be my biggest gripe. That price though.. Not happening. Not with a quartz movement. For the same price you could get a bronze diver from Zelos, a quartz chronograph with 100m water resistance from Seiko, a full tank of gas, and a nice dinner with the family.

Watches are for the most part round - so why not date windows? Personally I like them, because they tend to blend in better. No distraction by a surround. Just a little peep hole.

I know the review Is coming, I am almost decided yo buy the speedgraf, but that 19mm lug to lug Is really offputing, how easily one could Fit a 20mm strap?

Leather and nato's would be extremely easy to fit. You could squeeze a 20mm nato in there. I personally would use a undersized nato and have a tiny but of room but its honestly barely noticable. My beater watch is a quartz Seiko Flightmaster with a 21mm lug width. I always wear it on a 20mm nato and you do not notice the gap litterally at all. I have had the same issue with other watches i used to own like the Tissot gentleman was 19mm lugs and i used 20mm leather on it. The only hard strap to fit to odd size lug widths are bracelets. Even then you can fit them with a file if your brave enough to take on the project. You can take a dremel or a file or anything really and just take off a little material on a leather strap on both sides to fit the strap. Takes about 15 seconds per side and perfect fit. I wouldn't let odd sized lug widths make you stray away from buying a watch you like but it may take a little elbow grease to make things perfect. Just go slow and take small amounts of material off at a time and keep checking the fitment to the watch periodically. Very simple honestly.
