Since 2005 Cesar Milan has shown us how to take dogs to the dog park which is for socializing not exercise. All dogs should be exercised for 20 minutes outside the park before taking them in. By getting rid of "pent up energy" your dog is more likely to walk around slowly, head low, ears back (sub) and allow other dogs to sniff it's junk. When your dog enters the park it's the NEW scent and other dogs are very curious and converge on your dog to smell it first then they become best friends.

This is tough because the plaintiff has no business in the big dog park with his small dog. Most parks have a rule that you can enter with a small dog but that you enter at your own risk. This is because many large dogs have a prey drive that is triggered by running small dogs. Large dogs should have the opportunity to go to their own park to have fun without owners worrying about small dogs coming in. I know a lot of small dog owners like to go in the big dog park to get attention and show off their small dogs but you need to focus more on what is safe for your dog and not getting attention.

Cesar Milan showed us how to make a Pit submissive to a Chihuahua, how to bring a dog to the dog park (which is for socializing not exercise) and to take them on a 20 minute walk to calm them down BEFORE entering the park. Lastly when your dog enters the park it must be taught to submit to having it's junk smelled by other dogs. Owners of powerful breeds (Rottie, Shep, Pit, Staffie, Akita, Chow, etc.) should follow Cesar but most don't.

Just for anyone who might be confronted with this situation in the future, if a pit bull or any other dog locks onto you or your dog, if you have a bottle of water, open it and shove the open end in the dog's mouth, take your fingers and push them in the dog's nostril's to block them and then squeeze the water bottle. The dog will start to choke and immediately let go. The instinct to avoid choking to death is greater than the desire to attack. A big game hunter in the 1930's actually saved his own life when he was jumped in a surprise attack by a leopard. As the leopard was attacking him he shoved his hand in it's mouth and down it's throat and held on for dear life. The leopard immediately gave up it's attack and tried to escape. The man held on until the leopard choked to death. I'm sure the man was injured but he did survive. I read this story years ago in National Geographic. I don't remember the man's name but he was legendary enough to have a story written about him. Many attacks happen so fast there is nothing you can do, but in this case they had time.

After watching the intro alone I will say that the defendants dog could not have been defending its territory because even if the dog thought it was it's territory it's not since it's a public dog park. However, because it is a public dog park, unless there were signs saying you were not allowed to unleash your animals, Dog parts are typically made in such a way that you are meant to be able to do that. That being the case, it was the risk the plaintiff took when he decided to go to the dog park. If the defendant goes to the dog park again with his dog that he knows has viciously attacked a dog in the past then he would definitely be responsible but if this is the first time his dog has attacked another dog It's just the risk you take.

B.S. on the dogs name having anything to do with his aggression, unless we are insinuating that the dog was raised to be aggressive. My dog's name is Max, MadMax. He loves to chase squirrels.But he doesn't know what to do with a cat that just sits there in back yard. The cat has obviously been raised around dogs. This guy, however, knew that he had an aggressive pit bull and never should've had him at at park, especially off leash. And he still got off cheap because of the $3K max. And you can tell by the defendant's attitude that he's going to keep taking his aggressive animal back out there.

My black cats name was "Freddy " (female) after Crugar. She was incredibly gentle to my daughter's hamster. BUT she would come after anything with her razor paws if I screamed a certain way 😊😅😅😅

As a dog owner I find the plaintiff to be an asshole. He should've kept his small dog in the small dog area. I get that its not a rule that they must but there's a safety component to why they have two separate parks. I would've only found the defendant partly liable.

There's nothing more ridiculous than an arrogant dog owner who takes their little dog into a big dog park. You always have to assume there will be a few aggressive dogs and it's so unfair to your little dog when they have no possible way of defending themselves against big dogs. Shame on the Plaintiff!! I was bitten by a small dog in a large dog park and went through torture. The dog owner watched me get attacked and did nothing. Small dog owners can be just as big of idiots as big dog owners. Unfortunately, JM isn't smart about dog behavior. If this was Judge Judy the Plaintiff would have lost. He should not have a dog at all.

I know many people try to defend pit bulls but for some reason they can never answer why 90% or more of these cases are always pitbull dog attacks. I am getting tired of hearing the same excuse for people save their pitbull is super friendly and loves everybody but somehow ended up killing someone's dog or attacking some person at random. I even remember one defendant saying that the 9-year-old boy who obviously saw the dog from a distance as he approached came up behind the dog to scare him after the dog and the owner had passed. The lies people have to say to defend the breed is just ridiculous. If a car had brake failure problems at a percentage rate higher than other vehicles the same way. Pitbulls have an attack rate higher than other dogs. Everybody would label that car as a dangerous car and would not drive it.

I used to bring my GSD to the dog park but not anymore. One day guy had his unneutered pitbull (not allowed btw) going after female dogs and pissing them off and challenging the males, and suddenly boom. Massive fight with multiple dogs. My GSD was laying down under a tree and a Husky and another large dog charged him, and my dog went to defend himself. That was the last time. And there was just a lot of weirdos there, including a weirdo perv.

I can't agree with the naming being a piece of evidence. It sounded to me like the defendant was starting to talk about the cryptid stories of the black dog being an omen for death, but thought better of it and stopped, but it could have just been a cool offhanded reference to a very commonly known cryptid myth and the name doesn't MEAN the dog is vicious. My cats name is Shazam. He doesn't turn into a super hero when I yell his name. I named my other cat Arora and she is certainly no princess... shes' the queen of chaos and destruction. There are plenty of times people name their animals things that just don't come off great in this type of situation, but doesn't necessarily mean all dogs named "Havoc" or "Killer" are named that because of personality traits. Naming a little tiny teacup poodle "killer" is actually kind of funny and ironic enough people would do it.

It’s the plaintiffs fault! He had no business going into the large dog area! There a reason the park has the area separate.
@seanjenkins3319 ай бұрын
Everyone knows small dogs are usually the instigators. If u have dog parks that separate big and little dogs, why the hell would u bring a little dog into a big dog park
@tailorforeman70829 ай бұрын
Dog parks are not horrible places. Just be smart because you can tell when dogs are pissed at other dogs for the most part. Also, everyone that goes to a dog park should invest in an air horn. It will break up a dog fight in .2 seconds.

I never had to utilize this technique but i heard a way to get a pit (or i guess dog in general) to release is to grab them by the scruff of the neck and pull. You'll cause it to choke and it will release to breathe. Is that true or was i mislead.
