Arn, thanks for the post. Amazing how so many people are blind to truth. Maybe one day their longing for the Holy Eucharist will open their eyes. Bishop Sheen once said "There are one million people in the world who hate the Church for what the THINK it is and 100 people wo hate the Church for what is REALLY is." We'll keep defending the faith! Praise Jesus!

Peace be with you brother. We would love to have you in our Church. We are part of the Pope John Paul II Generation. We are 16-35 and on fire with spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our actions. St. Francis once said, "Spread the Gospel always, speak when you have to." If you are interested, contact the Catholic Church in your area. You can go to the Catholic Mass anywhere in the world. The Mass is the same where ever you live. God Bless you brother in Christ.

A prayer is praising and glorifying before anything else . A prayer is asking with humbleness . A prayer is invoking and meditating . A prayer if it followed by hope , would be the most beautiful prayer . Look at Jesus how He used to pray , and immitate Him , plain and simple .

missing parts of Esther, and Susanna and Bel and the Dragon which are included in Daniel. Protestant reformers in the 1500s decided to follow the official canon of Judaism for the Old Testament rather than the Septuagint. The Septuagint, was in common use and Christians adopted it as the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. It can also be said that the Protestants removed them to disprove biblical practices.

Amen Edward. Amen. Unfortunatley we live in a world of growing moral relativism. If a Christian believes something is good for them then is must be truth or OK. You see, there is only one Truth. Too many people make up their own truth - ie moral relativists believe gay marriage is ok, abortion is ok, pre marital relationship is ok; you name it. Until we all accept one truth, it will never be as easy as you think it should be;I agree with you, it is sad.Peace be with you brother in Christ.

@theyanna We live just of words in the Bible. Nothing more. But it is the reason, why catholics and other churches who like tradition the same or more than Bible, don't understand us and why we are arguiing so often. We just returned back to pure message of Bible, without human tradition, without so many rules and ceremonies... It is necessary to understand who we are and also why we try so much to persuade catholics to change. It is not because of our proud, but our love.Forgive us our mistakes

There's no question that Christ began a visible Church before ascending to Heaven. He was quite clear in handing the keys over to Peter and we see all throughout the book of Acts Peter and the apostles building the Church. Rules and Traditions developed and have been handed down through apostolic succession. Christ never intended there to be all these breakaway religions. He promised to remain with his Church and let not even the gates of hell prevail against it.

@theyanna There is more churches of protestant branch. I must say, that i belong to one of many, that comunicate together and our faith is practically the same. Just our congregations have different names. For us is not important if we belong to some big super church. Much more important is the real relationship with Jesus. We come together to praise Him and to serve each other and others. But there are some more traditional churches that are also protestant but they do we are against for.

1. If they're in heaven (as the saints are), then they most certainly are NOT sinners anymore. 2. We "pray" to the saints in the exact same way that you "pray" to your friend - we simply ask them to pray for us to God. 3. If that's praying to someone in the manner you seem to imply, then it is YOU who pray to sinners and not us.

Jesus told all his disciples in Matthew 18:18 "Truly I say to you, (Q)whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven"; it wasn't limited to Peter. It is the Catholic church that is claiming the right to "private interpretation."

I did ask the Bible and it told me (Mat18:15-20). If your brother sins against you go to him if he does not listen go to the Church. Jesus then said, "Truly I say to you (I am not kidding) whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven. I was still not convinced and I found 1Tim3:15 - If I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the Church..the pillar and bulwark of truth." If the Bible is the source of truth shouldn't at least the Bible say so?

@Seekerr1 "He is not even sharp enough to know that name calling is the same as slander..." That's because for a certain type of "Christian", it's more important to hate those who don't agree with you than it is to love Jesus. If they loved Jesus, they would engage with others in a whole different way. That's why I 1) can't take people like him seriously and 2) put them all on the prayer list.....God's grace is a whole lot more efficacious than anything I could say to someone like that :)

You want to include the rest of those definitions? Probably not, because they fly in the face of what you want to say. Here: 6. that which is prayed for. 7. a petition; entreaty. 8. the section of a bill in equity, or of a petition, that sets forth the complaint or the action desired. We use your 1 a. and b. for God alone. My #7 is for other people.

maybe i'm wrong about this but i believe that by being a good person, and by living a good life that a person can achieve salvation anyways regardless of religious affiliation. am i to believe that all the people over 130 thousand years, (or 6000) who have lived without knowledge of christ or god are damned beacuse they were not around yet? no. that would not be just. i think we, regardless of faith are equal in the final judgement.

Jesus did not even give authority to Peter: In the original Greek text he refers to peter as "petros": a small, movable stone, but states he will build his church upon the "petra": A large, immovable slab of rock. This is consistent in scripture elsewhere, especially the psalms, where God is often called a rock, but never is a man called this.

deercreek7-if you would study your church through the middle ages you would find all kinds of arguments over who was pope. There are different lists that supposedly trace the successors of Peter - and it was not founded on him, but Christ. It's Christ's church, not Peter's. We are one in Christ, not Peter. Christ didn't only give His authority to Peter, He also gave it to the rest of Hist disciples when they were gathered together.

Also, we do not "mock" Mary. We have NEVER "mocked" Mary. We respect Mary greatly, she did, after all, give birth to our Lord. What we do NOT do is pray to her, because she was not God, and we pray only to God, and we do not consider her the "perfect" Christian, because, as I believe we both agree on, no-one is perfect but God. You quote Mathew 13:55 and 27:56, but here we see Mary the mother of James and Joseph is also Mary the mother of Clopas (John 19:25), not Mary the Blessed Mother. At the foot of the cross was Jesus' mother, his mother's sister, MARY THE WIFE OF CLOPAS, and Mary Magdalene. Why would Jesus entrust his mother to John if he had other siblings? If he did, it would have been a great insult to them

Obviously not, as simply the context of the passage attests to Jesus being a mediator of salvation specifically. If that wasn't enough, study a little Greek and you'll discover that the original manuscripts made this much more obvious than it is in English. The saints are no more of a mediator when we ask them to pray for us than your friends are mediators when you ask them to pray for you.

We do not deny the sacraments Christ instituted. Baptism, communion, I think you'll find they're all there. Reading the context of Matthew 16:18 (look back to my first comment), I don't believe Jesus left the keys to Peter; I believe he was referring to the CHURCH. He left his church the keys of heaven. And the church of Christ is not catholicism, or protestantism, or any other denomination, it includes EVERYONE who has been saved by the blood of Christ.

@boan000 Yes, Jn 3:16 teaches that faith is necessary, but it DOES NOT teach faith ALONE is necessary! This is where you inject tradtions of men. James 2:24 - "Do you see that by works a man is justified; and NOT BY FAITH ONLY?" There is no way around the clear contradiction. It cannot be explained away by heretical isogesis. I agree that we should not worship any graven images, nor should we bow down to them IN WORSHIP as the commandment says. But NO WHERE in the bible does it say that prayer, which literally means nothing more than "asking", is to be for God alone. Heck, Shakespeare used the word that way and the courts of law still use it that way to this VERY day. If you think ASKING should be done to God alone and never to other people, then your life is going to be impossible to live.

The one true church at the end of the age consists only of true believers. Salvation is not in Peter. Salvation is in Christ. If you are in Christ, you will be in that assembly revealed in Revelation. Jesus said "My kingdom is not of this world." The Jews preserved the Old Testament and they wrote the New Testament.

Yeah and the Protestants follow Luther's bible with 7 missing books and missing passages. Again who is right? What about the Ethiopian Orthodox Canon? They have more books then the Catholics!

@boan000 Therefore your request to have me respond here is meaningless, as I have clearly explained before. My offer to discuss these matters in depth still stands. In regards to you so-called "harmonizing" Romans with James - This is superflous to my argument, since James and Romans DO NOT contradict each other nor appear in contradiction at all. It is only when you apply a heretical isogesis to James, whereby you twist its meaning completely; that you need to "harmonize" them.

@boan000 I never claimed that faith in God does not justify. In fact it is Catholic Dogma that Faith in Jesus Christ is necessary for salvation. What I do have a problem with is you inserting the word ALONE. These verses DO NOT teach faith ALONE. Regarding the works not mentioned in the verses you cite - So what? Read the rest of the Bible!! There are a multitude of verses which teach the necessity of works.
