One) fascinating Two) enlightening Three) encouraging Four) satisfying. I like to think that I am a natural skeptic. I really want to know why I believe what I believe. I want to always be asking “is it true“… My beliefs. This video is so satisfying. I love how this man has thought through these big and complex questions. Very thoughtfully. Thank you, Brandon! I don’t want to argue. Arguing is exhausting and fruitless. I love how are you want to engage in truth in such a kind, loving and compassionate way. Kudos brother!

God has put eternity in the hearts of all mankind" Eccl.3:11 Let's not put Science as a primary gateway to a knowledge of God. The questions a scientist may ask about the meaning of life are the same questions an uneducated ploughman may ask. And God can answer both uniquely and sufficiently unto salvation by Grace through Faith in Christ. God has chosen the simple things to confound the wise.

1:00:05 The problem I see in the modern western world is that you can tell people this, and they will want to be loved on their terms, not Gods. I see them more likely to say, if God loved me he would let me live whatever way I want to and love me still, and if not he's not a loving God. From there I would tell them that a parent knows better than the child and needs to correct the child because they love them, and if you don't teach children good things it is harder for them to learn them. Ect ect. Just wanted to get that thought out in response to thatn, thanks for this helpful conversation l:)

24:59 we know why biology acts and reacts in certain ways given the elements inducing chemical reactions. The pressure of our environment, limited space, forcing all these different parts to be constantly manufacturing the world we live in. These microscopic organisms and cells are of course too small for the human eye to see, so it may seem miraculous. I don’t think it’s a great conversation to say that “due to science’s/humans limited understanding of the universe, ergo God is the creator” I think given our natural abilities of what we see with our naked eye (the beauty of this world), our natural responses to react with love, and what our faith brings the human soul are stronger “reasons” or precise correlations for why we can know as Christian’s that God is here and exists in all of us.

@@friisteching3433 The origins of modern science are deeply intertwined with Christian thought and values, demonstrating that the pursuit of scientific knowledge can be seen as a way to understand and appreciate God's creation. Isaac Newton, Johannes Kepler, and Galileo Galilei all viewed their scientific work as a means of uncovering the divine order of the universe. The intricate complexity and order of the universe point to an intelligent Designer, fostering a sense of awe and reverence for God, such as the fine-tuning of the universe and biological DNA complexity. The pursuit of scientific knowledge is inherently a search for truth, which can be seen as a way to understand God's truth and wisdom. Francis Collins, the former director of the National Institutes of Health, argued that scientific discovery and religious faith are complementary. Science is the method of discovery to explain the what and the how. God is the who, God is the why. By revealing the intricacy and beauty of creation, inspiring wonder and awe, prompting moral and ethical reflection, and offering opportunities for the integration of faith and science, the pursuit of scientific knowledge can enhance one's spiritual life and foster a deeper connection to God.

I really loved this one , he is a great guest to hear from and has a lot of wisdom and understanding that is very useful , this could have been 10 hours and I would have stayed to the end. I loved his testimony and the only point I would touch on is simply where you guys spoke about people not hearing the gospel , I think this is a false presumption - presupposition we force upon God without proof this will ever be the case . If I remember correctly God said the gospel will be preached to EVERY creature and then the end will come , I think each person will hear of Jesus Christ , Christians are literally every where , and , God gives visions , when I street preach , plenty reject the message but one thing I did notice now that I am thinking of it , not one person has ever come to me and asked who Jesus is , not even once have they claimed they never heard of Jesus . I realise this is a limited experience but I just put my personal experience with that verse I quoted and I just don't think there will be people who "wont hear the gospel" I think everyone will , in some way . now , I can always be wrong , it just seems more likely to me , if they don't hear it , I would have to ask , why? did they just never care to search? the bible seems to say we will be without excuse for some reason , any ways , just kind of wanted to add in a thought to this , it feels similar to when people ask me about deathbed confessions to Christ , I don't see this as reality either , I think its more ways to find fault in Gods plan . I have a responsibility to share God is not a trinity , I heard him say three persons , this is a false teaching , please , God the Father is a holy spirit who has manifest in the flesh , his name is Jesus Christ , the body , the man Christ Jesus , is the son , but it is Gods physical form , his word made flesh , his express image , and Father and holy spirit are titles , not persons , they aren't even names , they are just titles to a person / being and that is why Jesus is the Alpha - Omega and the everlasting Father from isaiah 9:6 , so please , all I said is in scripture word for word , but trinity - three persons and all this , not there , its a lie and its a sin because its idolatry and it is heresy , both are damnable sins , to believe in three persons , is to believe in three gods and i realise you all say you don't , I get it , but thats just a mental gymnastic , three persons as one being is not possible or true or real , its three gods , you worship Jesus as someone different than the Father , this is idolatry , there is a reason he was said to be equal with God , its Gods form , not some other person , thats how he is equal , its Gods own manifestation . any ways , I don't say it to be contentious , I will be held accountable for what I do , or , what I do not do , I wanted to share the truth but I do also really love the video and that guy was a great guest.

Here is a rational man who rationally invested his faith in Jesus
@LM-jz9vh
@LM-jz9vh 14 күн бұрын
Yep. It sure is rational investing in a failed apocalyptic preacher. --------------------------------------------------------- *Jesus is clearly speaking to the disciples and gives a timeframe for when the Son of Man would come.* "Jesus sent these twelve out, charging them, saying: Do not go into the way of the nations, and do not go into a Samaritan city. *But rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.* And going on, proclaim, saying, The kingdom of Heaven has drawn near" (Matthew 10:5-7) “Truly I say to you, ***you will not finish going through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes”*** (Matthew 10:23); For the *Son of man* shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; ***and then he shall reward every man according to his works.*** Truly I tell you, ***some who are standing here will not taste death*** before they see the *Son of Man* coming in his kingdom (Matthew 16:27-28) Truly I tell you, ***some who are standing here*** will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God (Luke 9:27) Truly I tell you, ***this generation will certainly not pass away*** until all these things have happened (Mark 13:30) *He says that the coming of the Son of Man will be accompanied by:* The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the *Son of Man* in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the *Son of Man* coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. Truly I tell you, ***this generation will certainly not pass away*** until all these things have happened (Matthew 24:29-34) There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the *Son of Man* coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. When you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near. Truly I tell you, ***this generation will certainly not pass away*** until all these things have happened (Luke 21:25-32) He also falsely prophesied to the high priest, the Sanhedrin and Nathaniel. *Jesus falsely prophesied to the high priest and the Sanhedrin* Jesus also falsely prophesied to the high priest and the Sanhedrin (assemblies of either twenty-three or seventy-one rabbis appointed to sit as a tribunal) You will see the *Son of Man* sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and ***coming on the clouds of heaven*** (Matthew 26:64) (Mark 14:62) Except the high priest and the Sanhedrin never saw Jesus sitting at the right hand side of God, or coming on the clouds of heaven, or any such thing. *Jesus falsely prophesied to Nathaniel* Jesus also falsely prophesied to Nathaniel when he declared, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel.” Jesus said, You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that. He then added, ***“Very truly I tell you, you will see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man*** (John 1:50-51) *Nathaniel never saw any such thing. Neither did anyone else.* ------------------------------------------------------------------ Also look up: Watch *Jesus: Apocalyptic Prophet, Historical Lecture - Bart D. According to the general consensus of scholarship *(even critical Christian scholars),* YHWH was originally incorporated into the Canaanite pantheon as a son of the Canaanite high god El before inheriting the top spot in the pantheon and El's wife Athirat (Asherah) before religious reforms "divorced" them. El's pantheon in Ugarit (modern day Ras Shamra in Syria) is called the *Elohim,* literally the plural of El. Interestingly, the Biblical god is also referred to numerous times as Elohim. If you want to see if El is fictional, just read his mythology in the Ugaritic/Canaanite texts. "The mysterious Ugaritic text Shachar and Shalim tells how (perhaps near the beginning of all things) *El* came to shores of the sea and saw two women who bobbed up and down. *El* was sexually aroused and took the two with him, killed a bird by throwing a staff at it, and roasted it over a fire. He asked the women to tell him when the bird was fully cooked, and to then address him either as husband or as father, for he would thenceforward behave to them as they called him. They saluted him as husband. He then lay with them, and they gave birth to Shachar ("Dawn") and Shalim ("Dusk"). Again *El* lay with his wives and the wives gave birth to "the gracious gods", "cleavers of the sea", "children of the sea". The names of these wives are not explicitly provided, but some confusing rubrics at the beginning of the account mention the goddess *Athirat (Asherah),* who is otherwise *El's* chief wife, and the goddess Raḥmayyu ("the one of the womb"), otherwise unknown." *"First, a god named El predates the arrival of the Israelites into Syria-Palestine.* Biblical usage shows El was not just a generic noun, but often a proper name for Israel’s God (e.g., Gen 33:20: “El, the God of Israel”)." "I should add here that it is very clear from the grammar that the noun nachalah in v. 9 should be translated “inheritance.” *Yahweh receives Israel as his “inheritance” (nachalah), just as the other sons of El received their nations as their inheritance (nachal, v. 8).* With this verb, especially in the Hiphil, the object is always what is being given as an inheritance. Thus, Israel is given to Yahweh as his inheritance. ((Here I’m indebted to Dan McClellan.)) It would make no sense for Elyon to give himself an inheritance. Moreover, as I’ve argued elsewhere, it is not just the Gentile nations that are divided up according to the number of the *sons of El.* It is all of humankind, i.e., “the sons of Adam.” This clearly includes Israel. And the sons of Adam are not divided up according to the number of the *sons of El,* plus one (i.e., plus Elyon). They are divided up, according to the text, *solely* according to the number of the *sons of El.* *Thus, that Yahweh receives Israel as his inheritance makes Yahweh one of the sons of El mentioned in v. 8. Any other construal of the text would constitute its rewriting.* A Sumerian hymn speaks to the goddess: “Nanshe, your divine powers are not matched by any other divine powers.” *Does this mean that Nanshe was the high goddess, that there were no gods above her? No, it does not.* Nanshe was the daughter of Enki, the high god. *In Sumerian mythology, as with Ugaritic, Israelite, Babylonian, and others, in the ancient past, the high god (Enki, in this case) divided up the world and assigned his children certain domains.* Nanshe was given a limited domain (the modern Persian Gulf) and was tasked with maintaining social justice there. *This is exactly what we see in Deuteronomy 32 with Yahweh. Yahweh is given a limited domain (Israel) and is given authority over his people, to punish them, as well as to protect and defend them against foreign enemies.* That Yahweh, like Nanshe, is said to have incomparable divine power *does not* mean that he is not subordinate to the high god who gave him his domain. *It is also of note that Nanshe, like Baal, Yahweh, and so many other deities, evolved over time. Her domain increased, and she was promoted in the pantheon (although she never became the high goddess)."* *"The Most Heiser: Yahweh and Elyon in Psalm 82 and Deuteronomy 32 - Religion at the Margins"* based on the *majority scholarly consensus.* (Written by Thom Stark who is a Christian) *"Michael Heiser: A Unique Species? - Religion at the Margins"* (A second response to Michael Heiser) *"Excerpt from “Yahweh and the Gods and Goddesses of Canaan” by John Day - Lehi's Library."* *"The Table of Nations: The Geography of the World in Genesis 10"* - TheTorah.com (Excluding the short narrative on Nimrod (vv. 8-12), *which appears to be a later addition,* Genesis 10 contains *70* names of nations or cities, a number that was symbolic of totality. Similarly, the descendants of Jacob were *70* in number (Gen 46:37; Exod 1:5), *as were the sons of the supreme Canaanite god El, with whom YHWH became equated.)* *"Polytheism and Ancient Israel’s Canaanite Heritage. Part V | theyellowdart"* (Of course, much of this [i.e., that Israel worshiped El and Asherah alongside YHWH] is really to be expected given that recent syntheses of the *archaeological, cultural, and literary data* pertaining to the emergence of the nation of Israel in the Levant *show that most of the people who would eventually compose this group were originally Canaanite. As the Hebrew Bible notes, the Hebrew language itself is a Canaanite language, literally the “lip of Canaan” (שְׂפַת כְּנַעַן; Is. **19:18**), and so it cannot often be distinguished by modern scholars from other Canaanite inscriptions on purely linguistic grounds.)* *"Ugarit - New World Encyclopedia"* (Ugaritic religion centered on the chief god, Ilu or El, whose titles included "Father of mankind" and "Creator of the creation." The Court of El was referred to as the (plural) 'lhm or ***Elohim,*** a word ***later used by the biblical writers to describe the Hebrew deity*** and translated into English as "God," in the singular. El, which was ***also the name of the God of Abraham,*** was described as an aged deity with white hair, seated on a throne.) *"Mark Smith: Yahweh as El’s Son & Yahweh’s Ascendency - Lehi's Library"* (Mark Smith is a Catholic) *"God, Gods, and Sons (and Daughters) of God in the Hebrew Bible. A very garbled and biased account of what the scholars actually say. I ought to report you for lying. In reality NO ONE knows the actual original of Yahweh. And while He was first worshipped in Canaan, this does NOT mean that He was originally one of the many Canaanite deities. Yes, the Israelites often fell into idolatry, worshipping pagan idols alongside Yahweh, but that does NOT mean that Yahweh was also a pagan idol.

I was Christian, then atheist, then adopted a Hindu mindset that accepts Jesus. Some Hindus view Jesus as a great spiritual master who achieved "Christ consciousness," a state of oneness with the divine that is available to all who undertake rigorous spiritual practice. I believe that Jesus' proclamation "The Father and I are one" affirms the Hindu idea that everyone can realize their own universal "God-consciousness." This interpretation sees Jesus' death not just as a symbol of hope and redemption, but also as a moment of enlightenment and merging with the Godhead, the source of all creation in Hinduism.

@@CaptainPhilosophical , there is NO such thing as "relative truth", chum. Something is either true or it is not. If Christ is the only means to salvation, then Hinduism is FALSE, no matter how much some Hindus admire Jesus. Likewise, if Hinduism is true then Christianity must be false. So spare us all the feel good psycho-babble of all religions being paths to truth. It is BS.

The gospel is the “good news” because it contains the exceedingly wonderful message of God’s redemption of sinful humanity through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. The gospel is the heart, the central core of Christian preaching. The English noun gospel comes from the Anglo-Saxon term godspell, meaning “glad tidings.” It is translated from the Greek evangelion, which means “good message.” Originally, the word was related to news of military triumph. But when the New Testament was recorded, its writers assigned the term gospel to the “good news” of salvation in Jesus Christ. The gospel encompasses the entire communication of redemption and salvation to humans as preached by Jesus Christ and His followers (Matthew 4:23; Romans 10:15). Later, the term gospel was also applied to the four historical records of Jesus Christ’s life written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These four men are the original “evangelists,” or writers of the evangelion. The announcing of good news began with an angel heralding John the Baptist’s birth to his father, Zechariah: “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news” (Luke 1:19). John the Baptist was the first to preach the gospel (Mark 1:1-4). After John baptized Jesus, God’s Spirit and anointing rested on the Lord “to bring Good News to the poor . . . to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free” (Luke 4:18, NLT) and to “proclaim the good news of God” (Mark 1:14). “The time has come,” Jesus began. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:15). The gospel Jesus proclaimed focused on the arrival of God’s kingdom (Luke 10:9; 17:21). Through Christ’s coming to earth, God’s rule would be completed (Matthew 6:10), His righteousness established (Isaiah 9:7; 32:1), and His people glorified (Romans 8:17-18; Colossians 1:27). After Christ’s resurrection, the gospel was preached by those who had witnessed His life (Acts 5:42; 8:4-5, 35; Romans 1:1-4, 9), and today it continues to be preached throughout the world by His followers. The gospel is good news because in it we find God’s promise of forgiveness from sin. John testified that Jesus is “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world!” (John 1:29; see also Luke 24:46-47; Isaiah 53:4-6; Acts 13:38; Hebrews 9:28). Through the gospel, we receive God’s power to live a new life in the righteousness of Jesus Christ: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed-a righteousness that is by faith from first to last” (Romans 1:16-17; see also Romans 3:21-26). According to the gospel, sin separated us from God (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 4:18). But when Jesus died on the cross, He paid the price and canceled the debt of sin for all who would believe in Him. He was “pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him” (Isaiah 53:5; see also Colossians 1:20). The gospel is good news because, through faith in Jesus Christ, we are reconciled to God and brought near to Him in fellowship: “Since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us” (Romans 5:1, NLT). The gospel is good news because “to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God” (John 1:12-13). Everyone who believes in the gospel and submits to its demands receives new life in Jesus Christ. We are adopted into God’s family (Romans 8:14-17; Galatians 3:26). We are “born of the Spirit” (John 3:5-8) and receive the “gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38; see also John 7:37-39), who guarantees our heavenly inheritance (Ephesians 1:13-14). The gospel is the greatest love story ever told (John 15:13). What could be more excellent news than its promise of eternal life in Jesus Christ?: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him” (John 3:16-17; see also John 11:25).

How do you explain it? The claim is that the evidence points to Christian God as the best explanation. If you have a better explanation, let’s hear it. You can’t say “that’s a bad explanation” without: 1) explaining why Or 2) putting forward a better explanation And saying “you can’t explain it” is a cop out. By you saying that “Christian God doesn’t explain it” the burden of proof is now on you to explain why that is so (as the Christian God conclusion has already explained its reasoning; you must demonstrate why it is false). All love 💕 if you’re going to make a comment like that I’m sure you are prepared to back it up so looking forward to your response

Well, think about it this way, what other religions actually describe God as Eternal and Preexisting the universe? And it can't be the universe itself because we know it had a start and a god needs to be eternal both outside the beginning and end of our universe, our life span, matter. Not human souls, not the universe, but God itself. Hinduism follow the bases of the universe and everything in it is God including humans which obvious is a lie because universe started from a point the big bang and humans are not divine, they are evil and good inside everyone of us while dinvine is all good, all merciful, all loving Jainisim is the basis that the soul is eternal, which again is a lie. Our souls are made in the womb along with the vessel in the body in a 9 month preparation span for coming into the world. Norse gods, they in the end die and have their children take the thrown, but why would gods be able to die? By other gods? Then why would they be called god if they aren't eternal or all-powerful? Greek Mythology all the gods live on earth on a mountain that is high enough to touch the heaven's, including nymphs that live in the river, hades living under the earth in the underworld. That all live within earth. Yet Christianity is the only god that is pre-existing the universe, it was he that created life, light and the universe and after all that time guiding the humans, willing to gave his son a vessel to live within the earth to preach the good news (gospel), to show he is our Lord and Savior. The way the Truth and The life. He came because the father wanted him to die for our sins and to be risen up again 3 days and join the father again outside that realm. And the fact that the lord gave us a gift, even after we all killed him on the cross, he gave us the holy spirit. Another thing all the other religions cannot contradict itself yet ONLY the bible is able to actually support and connect to each word or chapter without contradicting itself or have the writers do it for earthly desires like for example fame and wealth. It is a fact that when the new testament was being written and a huge mass of believers lived in Rome durning and after 33 AD, after Jesus' death and rising again to show up in front of a thousands of people in a village and the Apostles. Only for those eyewitnesses to be killed for their belief. Reference to these killings is in Tacitus Annals XV 44 it is free online to read. Another thing is in the old testament there are hidden words within the text in the original language Hebrew. There is a video named Bible hidden messages- Torah Codes By Chuck missler.

ATHEISM and RELIGIONS versus GOD and JESUS CHRIST OFFENSIVE and UNACCEPTABLE to Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, and Atheists is the BIBLICAL TRUTH that the submissiveness of lowly, ordinary, kind, and respectful persons on earth to the authority of Jesus Christ written in Matthew 28: 18 and obedience to his teachings too about the "Kingdom of God" and "Resurrection of the Dead" written in Luke 4: 43 and John 11: 25, 26 will definitely be rewarded by GOD with ETERNAL LIFE and existence on earth without sufferings, pains griefs, sickness, and death as written in Revelation 21: 3, 4. The LIES and false claims that GOD doesn't exist and the Bible is just a worthless book of lies, myths, fictions, fantasies, and fairy tales will definitely bring nothing but dishonor, disgrace, shame and ETERNAL DEATHS to Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, and Atheists while the teaching of Jesus Christ about the "Resurrection of the Dead" written in John 11: 25, 26 guarantees that loving, kind, considerate, and respectful persons on earth who died recently and thousands of years ago like Abel, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Job, Naomi, Ruth, King David, Jesus Christ's Followers and disciples, and many others will all be RESURRECTED back to life in the right and proper time so they can happily and honorably live and exist on earth forever as citizens and subjects of the "KINGDOM of GOD" and fully enjoy the eternal love, kindness, goodness, generosities, compassions, favors, and blessings of GOD and his Christ for eternity under the loving and kind rulership, guidance, and protection of Jesus Christ as GOD's Chosen King and Ruler of the heavens and the earth as written in Revelation 11: 15.
