grackle, last night I was binge watching your videos and watched the "what I eat in a week" video and I just want to say that I started crying happy tears because of how you were eating. i know that sounds weird but I've seen so much diet promotion on Instagram and "iced coffee for breakfast and half a sandwich for dinner and that's it!" tiktok videos recently that make me feel so horrible about myself. but watching your video while I was drinking a hot cocoa and having a piece of toast, I felt so safe and un judged. i felt like you would cheer me on and say "ooh, delicious" instead of shaming me for eating carbs. thank you for the content you make. thank you so much.

Fun fact: washing machines in Japan are normally placed outside the bathrooms and there is a specific hose to transfer the used bath water (bathtubs are a norm there) to the washing machine which is reused for the first rinse in the wash cycle!
@ktelise3 жыл бұрын
I live in Japan and have never seen anyone use their bath water for their washing machine, not saying it doesn’t happen, just never seen it. In Australia, we have a completely separate room called a “laundry” which usually has the washing machine, dryer, a sink and a linen/storage cupboard which can also house things like your iron/ironing board, cleaning supplies etc.

Hi Gracie; I understand completely how you feel about wanting to help generally, especially during these difficult times.. I am a key worker, so work every evening trying to keep the country moving, then I volunteer at the local food bank. This is really interesting. I normally do interviews with the clients, as I have training in various aspects of environmental health (housing food safety/hygiene etc.), but we are not doing interviews at the moment so I help the others (mainly ladies my age or older and mainly from various church groups) in the food bank store room, making up orders (single, couple, small family, larger family) to give out to people who have a voucher (available from doctors, church ministers, schools etc. to people they know who are having problems.) As well as being useful, we do have a lot of laughing and joking and I am sure you would enjoy it. Just apply. With your church connections, you would not have a problem and the cases which come up are often really interesting. I do two hours on each of Monday and Thursday, which were the two days the food bank was open, but now we are open practically 9-5 every day. And I am continuing to sew scrubs, as the number of cases is rising and we have to protect our NHS staff. Why not give something like these a go? Cheers

In Australia, it's common for people to have washing machines in a totally separate small "laundry" room in their house. Often it is pretty small and has a door going outside (to the backyard) where you can hang out your washing to dry. If not, people will mostly put their washing machines in their bathrooms. (Sometimes the laundry room actually acts as a second bathroom/toilet too or as a place to store things like petfood/litterboxes).
