Taiwan work culture for locals is one of the worst in the world . Many business owners demand that your life belongs to the company . You go home but you still need to work until late evening that’s the tradition in Taiwan . Example : If you work in the medical sales rep field that require you to find new clients using your own vehicle , the business doesn’t really pay for your gas at all , probably only 20% of it and the rest is out of your own pocket . This is only one of the many requirements working for larger companies in Taiwan. The culture is you must take money out from your own pocket to help that company grow. Wages are low unless you’re a doctor or a lawyer or something of that level . Otherwise you’re only just making 27k-35k a month. -Job interview’s in Taiwan are horrible. They ask about your family as well , what does your husband or wife do , how old are they , do you have any kids , are you planning your have kids. ( if you tell them your planning to have kids ) they won’t hire you regardless of what experience you have. If you want the job , tell them you hate kids and not planning for it , your chances will be much higher if you tell them that . They ask you the most bizarre questions , some not even related to the job at all . I’m a foreigner my wife is Taiwanese. She’s been looking for job for a while now . And 9 of 10 times the interviewer will ask my wife about things about my life in my home country , ask about my parents, what my parents do etc etc . They lost track of who’s actually applying for the job. If your a local in Taiwan be prepared to answer the stupidest questions. This is the culture of job interview’s and job searching in Taiwan . PS: companies don’t want you to work overtime in the office , but require you work at home after work so they do t need to pay you
