A closer look at the Super Soco CPx 🔋 // Learning surprise facts about the electric scooter! 😎

Hi Guys!
Usernamekate here! 👋
I hope you are all well!
So the more time I got to play with the Super Soco CPx, the more things I learnt that I wish I knew before I first took it out.
Handy little facts like:
1) It has 5 gears/ modes : 1, 2, 3, R and F!
(F is the forward gear but acts a maneuvering gear for when you are turning round in tight spaces and don't require full power) - In my vlog, after my surprise battery switch - I put it in reverse and then into F by accident. This is why the wee nipper couldn't make it up the hill! In a normal power mode, we'd have made it jusy fine!
2) When riding with 2 batteries from the offset, when the first battery drops to 20%, the second battery kicks in meaning you won't experience a drop in performance when 2 batteries are in.
3) Something I discovered AFTER uploading this vlog is that the scooter is actually keyless! (but supports a key aswell!) who knew!
I hope in this vid, you also get a sense of the size and weight of the thing and a few little nice touch features that it has!

Great part 2, im still in the "I want the technology but its still too pricey" camp. After test riding HD livewire I want an electric bike so bad, but its more expensive that a streetfigher V4 and I just can't justify it. But while they keep improving the tech and range the cost will come down and they will become the first choice for many commuters. Top commentary, super funny "dry hump" ☺🤣🤣

I wondered when you tried to go back up the hill if there wasn't some sort of battery switching issue, but your explanation of the LOW transmission setting not only makes more sense, but it's a nice feature to have in car park situations. Good tripods usually have a hook at the bottom of the vertical riser, this hook is designed to hold weights so your tripod won't tip over in a stiff breeze. You also might benefit from a remote for your camera, they're readily available for both iPhone and Android phones if that's your platform. I can only imagine that your dad is very, very proud of you Kate, I'm really enjoying your youthful enthusiasm and frankness along with the technical knowledge you demonstrate. “Dry humping the scooter on to the centre stand” - made my day! Clearly the voltage is lower than car batteries hence the proprietary charger connection. Confirms my earlier view that this is a bike for local use not commuting.

@@erskinelewis6365 Each battery is 60v so that's a multiple of 12v (12v x 5) - the power has to do with the 4kwh motor

I think it’s a cracking little thing if I’m honest... I’d consider one for the garage because I could jump on it, “her indoors” could and our daughter in a while for nipping about for college or whatever... saves mileage on the other stuff I have. Very easy to see these have a real place in the garage, regardless of what other machines you have. Great info re the battery thing, cheers Kate. 👍👍

Well anyone can but only if you sit a 125cc CBT course or have full motorcycle license, otherwise no you can’t. However if you want to drive an electric 50cc equivalent, then anyone can use one on a full driving license provided they passed their test before Feb 2001. No L plates, CBT test needed. But still needs to be insured (electric motorbike - no ordinary motorcycle insurer will touch you) registered with the DVLA. So wife, daughter must do a CBT course, which lasts 2 years if none of the above apply.

Hi Kate, thanks for the update, it was in F mode, explains the lack of power. This F mode for maneuvering is a great idea along with the auto cut in of the second battery at around 10% power another good feature. Also, a nice centre stand which seems to be a rare sight today. I love your channel, so much to see.

Switching at 20% is likely also better for the battery's longevity and gives you an additional "reserve" too.

Yup, lithium batteries don't like going below 30, treat 30% as a flat, do the same with your phone and its life span will be much longer

An electric scooter seems so nice just enjoy the silence while on the road compared to the horrible noise from a petrol engine bike, however the pitiful range on these, as well as the price makes it very hard to justify. Anyway thanks for showing us the bike!

Q: what do you use for your vlogging set up Kate, camera make/model, mic, and mount, gimbal, editing etc? I see a cheap GoPro HERO7 white CHDHB-601-RW on Argos £99

Thank you! My set up is very basic. This was all done on my phone. No mic since my new phone has changed its port so it doesn't support my mic :( my vlogging set up is a go pro hero 3+ with a purple panda lapel mic. Literally that's it 😂 I am going to do some research to step my game up for 2021 😊👍

Still don t understand why youre speed dropped under 20 mh because the second battery should take over when the first one ran out of sprite.anyway i am happy with my cb500x/2019. I hadn't connect the 2nd battery on purpose for the surprise element of the vlog, otherwise it would have happily taken over 👍 Then, it didn't pull up the hill because I had it in mode F (which is only for slow maneuvering) cos I'm a dope lol. And thanks for the love! 🙏😊

I’m really interested how the zero 11kw and soco equivalent would work for me, where I live there’s a lot of hills and Ive not yet seen anyone really tackling hilly areas on them, I know they’re meant as town/city commenters really but living out in the sticks I’d love to quietly pootle without scaring wildlife.

On my thoughs, ZERO it's an reference but not compare by the way. SuperSoco TCmax it's the one from this brand. But honestly, on the same range pricing URBET Gadiro rides well and better. So looking for an affordable serious sport touring bike, NURA is an cheapest option to ZERO bikes. Have a look on it, if you do road highway riding. ✌😉

No it doesn't they are safe to discharge to completely flat ( well technically they aren't completely flat ) - You my friend are thinking of Lead Acid batteries, the kind in almost every car.

@@tucker9162 no I’m not, I’ve been using lithium batteries over 10 years. You should discharge them to 20% maximum. A lead acid battery should be kept fully charged

The writing on the charger is Korean, not Chinese, so worry not. Koreans do actual engineering with quality. Chinese make things to be as cheap as possible.
