Hi Guys and Girls!
Something a little bit different today!
The reps of Super Soco got in touch and offered me a Super Soco CPx (for those who don't know- an electric scooter) for a weekend!
I thought it would be a good laugh and something different to try 😊
It is the equivalent of a petrol 125cc scooter⛽ it takes 3.5 hours to charge ⏰ and has an acclaimed 40 range with one🔋and an 80 mile range with 🔋🔋
If you want to test ride one, get in touch with a Super Soco dealership, or contact the English Electric Motor Co to ✌
Thanks for watching guys!

hi Kate , when you were uphill you went to reverse , and then you pressed the button and it showed F its a forward gear when ur moving around in tight spot and you will not get full power , you should just tap the reverse button again and then it goes to 1.2.3 mode , you didn't had to remove the battery the bike was acttuly fine , the bike has 5 gear modes R reverse F forward mode and 1.2.3 drive mode ,

So just some numbers in case who wonders; she started with 97% single battery with 261 miles on the ODO (420km), then she drove the battery flat to 10% charge. The ODO read 294 miles (473km). So she has covered 33 miles (53km) on a single battery. The estimated claimed range is about 43 miles (70km) for one battery and 87 miles (140km) for two batteries. Temperature was 11C, about 52F. Pretty average road trip; uphill/downhill and my guess is that the average speed was about 35-40 miles per hour (55-65 km/ph).

There’s so many of these electro-peds appearing now. There’s rows of them at work. And you know what, I say fair play. Many of the users come from less than 15-20 miles away and they’re absolute weapons in traffic. Had a chat with a guy who’s got a neo (he was wearing an arai rx7 so something going on there...) and as suspected he had Ducati’s, GS’s all sorts. This was purely for work. Makes sense to me... Great vid, Kate. 👍👍

Hi Kate, what a great video, a really comprehensive review, you covered everything we need to know, even how it performs in the rain, a really nice looking scooter, and the two battery option, a first, and essential option, a huge selling point. You really put it through its paces, good thinking to disconnect the first battery to get full power, which i found strange. This was my first look at electric and was impressed, thanks for a great introduction.

Digital dash, adjustable screen, riding modes and a single sided swing arm, its basically an electric multistrada 🤣🤣 What a brilliant idea having the opportunity to increase battery numbers. The BMW was clearly a setup 😆 Ooh an extra 1000 sovs for a second battery, I know that's where the cost is though it was just a bit of a shock seeing it on screen. I was kind of hoping you'd pop the front end up on carl fogarty way but not at the risk of getting stuck somewhere in Bolton 😆 This is intense 15% 😱 10% 😢 🤩🤩second battery🤩🤩 Brilliant... That was better than Ewan and Charleys long way up. 👏👏👏👏

Great trial! They ain't going to keep petrol stations open just for bikers, so it will be impossible to tour without going electric. In fact, motorists had this problem in the early years of motor transport. You have an engaging vocabulary, Kate! "Scotty, warp factor 10!" "OK, but your a hooligan. Another great video Kate. Electric is the future whether we like it or not. I’m sure one day I’ll get one when they can sort the range out on them. I honestly think they are quite dangerous due to no noise, especially in town. This one is obviously made for a niche market as you say, a quick trip to work and back but not very good for a blast out. The battery prices are crazy. I suppose the Harley ‘live wire’ is the one to test ride to get a better idea if they’re any good but for now I’m staying with my S1000XR. I’ll try and save the planet another way😂😂 I’m the same size as your Dad and I doubt very much it would even get 20ft up that hill with me on it. It would probably end up with Asthma and I’d have to rub Vics on its batteries until it got its breath back 😳😂 Cheers Woody

For me, electric 2-wheelers make a lot of sense. I don't own a petrol motorcycle any more. My reasons might be different though. I live off-road in the mountains of Mongolia. We have grid electricity at 5 pence a kWh. Whereas there is no petrol station nearby. I'd have to go on a 26km round trip ride just to get petrol. I don't commute. I just ride off-road for fun or do a bit of shopping. I now have 2 Surrons (a Storm Bee and an Ultra Bee). They are street legal but I rarely go on paved streets. I also have an e-MTB (electric mountain bike). My only non electric vehicle now is a diesel truck which I need for shopping and long trips. Because electricity and heating is generated with coal in Mongolia, it's still not great for the environment but hopefully that will change with some move to wind, solar or even nuclear. Back to the bikes. I also love the low-maintenance aspect and the quietness. I can ride around off-track on grasslands and not disturb the herds (horse, cattle, yaks, sheep and goats) around here. They just sort of look at me but aren't disturbed. Nor do I disturb the neighbours. I really love my e-bikes.

Wouldn’t it be great if the respective industries could align to universal standards of plug-n-play bike/car/van batteries, you could simply swap out at repurposed petrol stations, like you can for gas bottles? I really like the concept of EV bikes, I was quite tempted by the KTM Freeride E-SM but they dropped it from the range sadly. As a tool for commuting short distances, I think the current tech is absolutely fine, but for me to ditch the ICE on 2 wheels for one, we need a true 400km range in real world riding and a max 30 min charge time. We also need charging points on every parking bay, not just at petrol stations and supermarkets. Rykas, Loomies, Whiteways biker cafes would all go out of business if folk couldn't recharge at them while grabbing a brew and a burger! The slow pace up hill is a bit dodgy on this, I get the battery was low, but 16mph is terrifying to me. Am glad you had a cunning plan for that eventuality! :D

StoreDot in Tel Aviv have a 5 min full size EV battery charger. When this comes to market for Motorbikes it will be an absolute game (gear...?) changer. It'll allow bikes to have the smaller batteries, maybe 120miles, but if I can charge in 5 mins for £1, I'm happy to stop off regularly which I do on my ICE scooter 🤣

@@UsernameKate thank you for putting yourself on the line for a review. I think the system for this bike doesn't expect to have the batteries unevenly charged. So either have only one connected at a time, or both connected through the entire journey. The ones I use for work are restricted to like 45. And they have other ones that only go to 30 but no one uses them because there too slow I just use the ones you have I like them .👍✌️

I like the idea. Incidentally how many miles into the journey did the first battery last before fading?

So nice to see those roads again even in the murk. Even better that the cyclists could easily out climb that scooter. The video is a great ‘real world’ test demonstrating that this type of vehicle is best used for local transport, not commuting. Interesting that the operating system can’t ‘use’ both batteries. The internal combustion engine is one of our greatest achievements and the next stage is to adapt the engines to use bio ethanol or an equivalent non-fossil fuel. Many IC engines already can. The boxer engine is already proven with bio ethanol. Electric vehicles are an expensive sideshow that will ultimately be replaced by fuel cell technology. I weigh three times your weight so the scooter isn’t an option at all. That helmet colour scheme is really growing on me. Well done.

Glad to see your successful riding 👍 As for me I've been willing to have power and reliable e-scooter for me and my mother (with foot platform) and ordered a ninebot e200p e-scooter from China via local store here in Moscow, Russia. They showed many reviews. So I did it. But unfortunately my happiness didn't last so long. I couldn't even get from the store to my home on it. It just stopped 3km before I reached the home. And showed an error with 12 code. So I had to push it the rest of the distance. Next day I sent it to the store and now I have to apply to lawyer to get my money back. Because I can't use a scooter with the bugs with the first minutes of riding. They say that this is just a little bug with the hall sensor and they re-connected a wire from the bad sensor to another one and re-flashed the controller. But they are unable to persuade me convincingly that this issue won't happen again. So to my disappointment I disagree to get it back - our laws allow to get money back if any issues with a product are found wich I hadn't been aware of.
