The RoboBusters are a bit from Muppets Tonight where Bunsen and Beaker try to stop Robo-Abe Lincoln.

Y'know, as a Muppet fan, I'm both entertained about how obscure some of this got due to them not being allowed to use certain designs or things, but also that the lasting legacy in my mind of this line is that Peter Linz, one of the performers and the guy currently behind Walter, Statler and Link Hogthrob has confessed that he collected the whole line but had trouble for years on getting a single Dr. Teeth variant.

There weren’t many designs that we weren’t allowed to use. The obscure stuff we did because we wanted to.

I have most of the Muppet action figures from the main line (minus the exclusives and repaints) in my home and they are some of my prized possessions. I'm particularly fond of Kermit, Dr. Teeth, Beaker, Fozzie, Animal, Lew Zealand, Beauregard, Uncle Deadly, Sweetums, and the Swedish Chef kitchen playset. Palisades really went above and beyond with their attention to detail and craft...and I still wish that the Sesame Street figures could have been produced. Thanks for sharing this fantastic video with us!

Hi, great video! I can share a bit of clarification about the Lunchbox exclusives, as I was an editor for ToyFare. The first lunchbox Kermit wasn’t for sale. It was given away as a party favor to attendees at a party Palisades threw at the 2002 Wizard World East Convention, which I guess makes it an industry exclusive. And yeah, the other three were sold by Wizard Entertainment as ToyFare exclusives.

Okay, thank you so much for the clarification! Info on the first lunchbox Kermit was scarce, so I didn’t have a ton to go on there. I appreciate the insight!

@@SeekerofTheLost No problem. And great work! I know how hard it can be to keep track of these things: I used to run ToyFare’s price guide.

I remember playing with the Swine's In Space playset as a kid,it was second hand so it didn't have the Miss Piggy figure with it so I played My little ponies in space.I didn't know what the playset was from at the time until my Mom checked out a VHS copy of the Muppet Show and I saw it on there,it blew my little mine.

Its crazy to think these figures were packed with accessories and fully painted for less than 20 bucks per figure. I think series 1 was like 8.99 each.

fantastic video!! I wanted to start collecting these back in 2017 but didn’t really have the funds to do so but ugh this video really highlights just how great and unique these guys are!! I need to start even if i only end up with a few. I think I’m gonna nab koozebane kermit and a Gonzo figure to start! Thank you for the push!!

Yeah, I’ve wanted to collect them for years, but they’ve gotten very pricey depending on the figure. I snagged a Series 5 Gonzo years ago at a local comic shop for like $20, so that’s currently the only one I have. Thank you for watching!

@Seeker of The Lost they are so pricey 😭 but luckily I'm with family for a few more years and only aiming to get 10 to 15, so I'm gonna take the plunge 😅 I've been wanting them since 2016 (wish I bought them then 🥲) You're welcome!! Thanks for the research and video!! Love viewing beautiful pieces
@WiGgYof09
@WiGgYof09 11 ай бұрын
@SeekerofTheLost that's actually a pretty low price for action figures these days. Back when it was new I think that figure would have been 11.99 or so. If a figure of that same detail was done today, it would be $35 easy.

Its unfortunate they dont make toys like this anymore...one toy line I feel is comparable to a certain capacity is Diamond Selects Ghostbusters line from 2016. The first 15 figures let you build an entire rooftop diorama and the other 15 built the firehouse. Which is almost completely unheard of for just about any toy line. I was fortunate enough to get all of them to build the rooftop but didnt quite get all to build the firehouse.

Mega Checkered Gonzo must've made it pretty far along into production. I own one of the prototypes. He's not hand-painted, he's factory-painted. (And I didn't spend a huge amount for him, so I assume there were a few out there.) Mine differs from the one shown at 43:02, though. The tie on mine is not fully painted, and he sports a pink flower on his lapel.
