This is my first video in a new format, podcast or interview style. I interviewed a German therapist named Ursula, who is also starting out on KZfaq. We discussed three main questions:
1. What it's like to be a therapist
2. How will AI change the job of a therapist?
3. How will AI change society?
If you want to focus on AI content, you can probably skip the first section which is only about 10 minutes anyways. In the last section, I do the majority of the talking and we discuss how AGI can impact the profession of therapy. I also discuss my reasons for creating a KZfaq channel.

It’s going to change therapy for the better. Imagine an intelligence with such abilities and access to all that knowledge that can be copied. No more shortages of therapists and no waiting lists 👍 Hopefully no charges either but I doubt that 🤣

Try to do the interview in changing the screen with solo and duo in the same screen. More variety. Every 4 to 8 seconds. Do more close-up of yourself and more interesting lighting in the back. Example left could be orange and right could be blue. Combine colors. A more interesting background in your end. Stay looking at the camera straight. More close up and little bit of lighting from the front.

Thanks for the tips. Definitely need improvement when it comes to interviews. I wanted to do duo but forgot to ask the editor.

thank you for asking? What are you interested in? I'm very new to creating content for KZfaq, so my channel is still in its infancy. My main focus is on therapy. However, since I see so many people experiencing burnout, especially those who are highly sensitive, I've decided to provide information about thriving as a highly sensitive person in a noisy, bright, and crowded working environment.

@@UrsulaSchiller@UrsulaSchiller Hi Ursula, I see now that my reply to you was never posted. Let my try again, luckily I had saved the text: Hi Ursula, Thanks for sharing about your focus areas - very interesting. Work summit situations in your videos - I can totally relate to it. I wish I could have discussed this kind of stuff as I was starting out with my work life. I don't think many people talk about it. My initial question was simply out of curiosity to learn if you had already looked at anything on how AI could be used in psychology. I am just a regular person experimenting with AI tools out of interest. I don't have professional insights to offer, but if you're ever keen to hear the layperson’s perspective, I'm happy to share what I've learned using various AI tools related to mental health. I also listen to a couple of podcasts on how various industries may be impacted, which might be relevant to your work, happy to share this too. Either way, appreciate you taking the time to respond! By the way, two developments that I remember now as 1 bit-LLMs and the other Extropic_ai with its physics-based AI approach seem to be approaching a portable "artificial brain" at high speed.

@UrsulaSchiller Thank you Ursula, KZfaq never published my reply, sorry for that. I was just curious whether I have started using AI in some way. I'm just a regular person, not a medical professional, but happy to exchange about AI usage, if you are interested.

I've seen a lot of people that are scared to attend traditional therapy because there are concerns about, for instance, being forwarded to law enforcement (!) due to psychological issues, or being sent to a mental institution, which often result in poor outcomes, and can actually cause psychological issues (in North America, I think there are countries that do this better). I think for people like that, the barrier to talking with an AI bot, particularly one that's locally hosted, could actually be quite a bit lower, and it could help people...If not solve the issue, at least talk about, verbalize it, and understand how to present it in a confident way. In fact, there's a fundamental difference in feeling to talking to an AI bot, versus a human being, so I think rather than thinking of AI as the "final step" it's probably more like "step one" in the process as I see it. I've actually seen people in situations like this, and it's really interesting where someone will share their screen to show off something cool AI related, and then they'll have a "therapist" chatbot (An LLM that was instructed to ask questions about the person prompting it) in the other tab.

Love it ! You talked a LOT though, your guest was very patient. From the amount of speaking time it seems like she interviewed you. Obviously haven't seen the whole thing yet so shortly after the upload, but I can tell by skipping throught it. Maybe keep in mind for the next time. Looking forward to more interviews (and this one) !

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Yeah, Dr. Waku did talk quite a bit, but that's what I was after. I was eager to pick his brain and gain insights into how artificial intelligence could impact my line of work. Instead of being interrogated by him, I was more like seeking his guidance to understand what changes might be on the horizon. By the time we finished our chat, Dr. Waku's insights really helped me see things more clearly. I'm genuinely excited about learning how different professions are being affected by technology. And hey, who knows, maybe we'll get to hear about your occupation next time! :)

16:00 to solve the problem the way that she does, yes you would need all of those things. But if the goal is to just solve the problem, then the AI can use the tools it has available. She said it herself that there is a long waitlist because the demand is so high. That means people are not getting the help they need; lets hope we find a way to help people who need psychological help with AI soon.

Interesting. Just a though, a psychiatrist is going to approach therapy very differently than a social worker. I've gotta imagine we're going to see Eliza 3.5 rolled out anytime soon to start providing AI therapy CBT or similar (Better Help style) to the army chatbot

I am expecting to see AI end things like child abuse. When there is a powerful AI in every smartphone, signs of abuse will be much easier to find.

As autistic person, I miss a lot of the nonverbal cues that she talks about. I honestly don’t think there is generally hidden meaning to what I say, I just try to be honest. But it occurs to me that LLMs probably don’t know too much about these cues because she describes how she had to pick this up herself by her own pattern matching. Seems that the neurotypical therapists and doctors over time might not have explicitly written much about things they find obvious and intuitive.
@UrsulaSchiller
@UrsulaSchiller 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! You are correct, my psychodynamic therapeutic approach is probably not be the best fit for autistic people. However, there are other therapeutic approaches that, for example, could involve explaining nonverbal cues and discovering together how people react to the cues you unintentionally send or how to prevent autistic burnout.
