"She's a lucky cow!" Brilliant because that's EXACTLY what Mrs. Slocombe would have said about Molly Sugden. What a lovely, lovely woman and so dearly missed. She and Patricia Routledge could easily have played conniving sisters, that would have been amazing.

I am an American. and PBS { Public Television } used to Air Are you being served on Friday nights. My friend and I loved that show! everyone was so fantastic in their roles. sadly they no longer run the British Comedies any more. I love the British Since of humor.😀👍

I can’t remember the last time the BBC made a really good sitcom. It seems to have lost its sense of humour. So we have to pretend that mediocre efforts like The Vicar of Dibley were in fact brilliant

I am so lucky to have met Mollie in Denver when she came for a PBS event. I also was lucky to meet John Inman at another PBS event. I had to stand in long lines both times but it was worth it!!

What a lovely person. She was modest in a very sincere way and quietly acknowledged her success without boasting about it. That is quite a feat in itself! I liked how she spoke about her career but balanced it with being just another mother. Unlike Mrs. Slocombe, Molly Sugden puts on no airs and graces and certainly no delusions of grandeur. That's probably why she remained funny until the end.

I so love Are you being served! Mollie seems like a sweet grandmotherly, delightful lady. Would like to have been able to meet some these actors, especially Arthur Brough. He made me laugh! Rest in Peace all and thank you.

What a charming lady! I've lately realized that in many cases, I would be disappointed to meet the actor, that it's their character that I'd like to meet. Meeting Mollie, however, would be doing both.

I love her! I watch AYBS every night from America on Britbox. I have watched every episode so many times.❤❤❤ Mrs. Slocumbe and Mr. Humphries make the show. However, every single actor on the show is amazing.

I briefly worked with Dara Wells at NBC Radio Network in the mid-80's just after I graduated college and she was the sweetest, nicest person to me. Gave me a big compliment to the news editor. No one better to interview the adorable Molly Sugden than her.

I remember as a child in the mid 70s, this ariving on our screens, which fitted in well with the statas quo of various Camp Comedy shows. Later on, was it a really big hit in The USA?

Great interview- never seen that before. On talking about AYBS, I'm kinda surprised they didn't mention her, errr, "cat." It could be that by 1995, the word had fully adopted the "other" meaning and would be deemed to risque!

Oh, my gosh! Thank you so much for posting this. I’ve only known about the show within the last couple of years and I was trying to find interviews on some of the actors to get to know them a bit. Of course, they’ve all passed away long ago, perhaps making it difficult to find anything. Thanks again!

I wish the BBC had funded more seasons of "Grace And Favor". Just watched it for the first time a few weeks ago and they could have developed that into such a wonderful second series had they done more seasons. The two that exist are amazing as they are but that world would have been so unique to explore with that cast

Go^^^^n I love Mollie. I was born America 1974 and first saw her around 1992 at least. The whole cast of "Are You Being Served?" was a godsend to me. Mrs. Slocombe being stodgy. Mr. Humphries being himself. Mr. Lucas being the gadfly and Miss Brahms unashamed about being working class. I love them all.

Loved that show, A.Y.B. Served. Still to this date, great cast. Sadly, in the U.S. Never saw how some of the characters were written off. Mr. Lucas mainly, I think they stated how/ why Mr. Granger was gone but can not remember at this time, But nothing on Mr. Lucas or those that kept taken over Mr. Grangers position. 3 or 4 in total, was it ?
