A Conversation with Winona LaDuke

4 жыл бұрынIn April 2020, as the world sheltered in place and in honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we began streaming all four "Standing on Sacred Ground" films online for free and hosted interactive conversations via Zoom Webinars. This is a recording of the conversation that followed the screening of the second episode in the four-part series, "Profit and Loss."
Sacred Land Film Project Director, Christopher "Toby" McLeod spoke from his home in Berkeley with Anishinaabe author and activist Winona LaDuke from her home in Minnesota, in the midst of maple syrup collecting season.
Winona offered hope and inspirational ideas on how to build a new world as well as updates on her efforts to block construction of new tar sands oil pipelines throughout North America.

Thanks so much for this interview. It is said that JOY is the highest form of consciousness. I think that's what must keep Winona going. Joy in the land, joy in her family, joy in a sense of purpose. Let's all do the same. It's possible for all of us to BE AWESOME and take local action! Remember, if we're not buying, they're not selling-- whether it's plastic bottles of water or endless inexpensive clothing. The Earth is a paradise, and a bio-diverse planet is the greatest possession any of us can have. Except it's the other way- we belong to the Earth.

.I am Mark Smith tribal member#0731 hannahville potawatomi michigan reservation. Traditional Ojibwe Potawatomi Ottawa father of 5 knowledge of codes laws etc...law abiding Anishnaabe...I obtain overwhelming amount of physical evidence and witnesses for a possible violations of codes and laws in which defined in the constitutions ... please any help would be appreciated thank you
