Artlocke rules:
1) Catch the first Pokémon you encounter per Route and Nickname it!
2) Draw that Pokémon a character portrait! Speedpaint and talk about the critter!
3) If it faints in battle? It dies FOR REAL and must be boxed never to be used again.
4) If all party members faint, then that's a Game Over!
Hey, Trainers! With Pokémon Legends Z-A on the way, I wanted to concentrate on some of the games that might prove to be relevant in relation to this upcoming title! Pokémon Y, set in Kalos, is the genesis of Lumiose City where Legends Z-A will be set so I figured we'd start here!

I've never used a Hawlutcha before so no idea if it's actually good. Could be an interesting addition if the time comes.

Not related to your catch but about something you mentioned. Eevee is certainly an interesting Pokemon to have in a Nuzlocke. The interesting part about catching one is all the options you can have. I usually struggle to decide what to evolve it into, especially if I get one early on in a game.

Yes! I love getting them, though, just because you can use one of the many options to help balance type weaknesses in the team. In theory, anyway! It is harder the earlier you get it just because you never know who you're going to wind up with or lose and which bases need covering! Still. Let's not kid ourselves... this is Gen 6. I'd be trying for Sylveon, LOL

@@PewterCityJim I've used almost all the Eeveelutions now in some kind of playthrough. The only one I still haven't used is Glaceon. What's your favourite eeveelution?

@@takclaw10 Vaporeon! Though, to be entirely fair, Vaporeon is also my favorite water type in general. How about you?

@@PewterCityJim Good choice! For me it used to be Flareon because of how cute and fluffy it is but I never really used it. I found it rather underwhelming to use. I would probably have to say Vaporeon as well. I enjoy using it in playthroughs plus I love the purple shiny!

@@takclaw10 I do love Flareon's design and the Special/Physical split in Gen 4 helped it a LOT... but yeah, it can be a struggle to use it when there are some particularly good fire types out there. Nice! Vaporeon club for the win! That Shiny really is super cute, too. Easily the best eeveelution shiny till we get to Sylveon as well.

my first ever pokemon game was crystal, i thought the pokeball symbol to the side of pokemon was to indicate if the pokemon had a trainer, since trainer battles didnt have the pokeball symbol. so i never caught wild pokemon cause i thought i would be stealing someone's pokemon. i ended up playing the entire game with just gift pokemon, and sudowoodo, red gyarados, & suicune. i very clearly remember telling myself that since those three were scripted the pokeball symbol "clearly" doesnt apply.

That honestly sounds super challenging! Did you pick up the Eevee in Goldenrod?

@@PewterCityJim wasn't very challenging at all really, though being 5 or so levels higher than everyone else definitely makes it easier. turns out, having only four pokemon for most of the game makes it easier to level everyone up. picked up all the gifts - starter, togepi, daycare egg, eevee. and mostly ran with them all the way up until...cant remember, pryce or the red gyarados i think?
