You did a wonderful job playing. That song was my mothers favorite as well. She passed away almost 11 years ago. And when my dad was in a hospice facility this summer, the chaplain (who also plays the violin) surprised us by playing that for him. She had no idea how much that song meant to our family. It was a magical moment. Keep up the wonderful work with Vlogmas. Although I miss my parents terribly, your videos are serving as one of my bright spots. ❤️

I, too, cried when you played your new keyboard.I cannot play but I enjoy music. Your second favorite setting was so beautiful to me. I hope that's the kind of music that's playing when I leave this world and transition to the next. It just sounded so heavenly. This was so calming and relaxing to watch. I was excited to see the marque as I remember seeing it during my Portland visit. I loved the voicemail from Hannah at the end. I've never worked on Christmas Day but many Christmas Eves and my husband (FF/medic) worked so many Christmas Days that I lost count. He'd always volunteer to work for people who had small kids which I know meant a lot to those folks. Your vlogs are beautiful. You create beautiful things for us and this world. I'm enjoying my last paper house of the year. 🏠❤

It's been hard for me to get into the christmas spirit so far this year because it's been so busy but your videos have really helped me feel the warmth of christmas. Hi Morgan! I've never written a comment on your videos before (that I remember) but I've been here for almost 2 years now. I know you were nervous about sharing your learning process on the internet and I am astounded at your continuing bravery as you try new things. I have been playing piano since I was 7 (as per my mother's rule) and I absolutely detested my daily practicing chore. It wasn't until this year, when I inherited my grandmothers late 1800s piano that I decided to start practicing again. I completely understand exactly what you are referring to when you mention the magic of music! Please keep sharing your progress. It was so wonderful to hear and you did an amazing job! It also helps me to remember that mistakes are part of learning. I often refuse to play when I know others can hear me as I don't want them to hear my constant mistakes... but here you are, posting it to your KZfaq family. Thank you so much for this video (and all of your videos really)! They are one of the things keeping me going as I struggle through a Master's degree. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

The joy in your face when you were talking about and playing your new piano was magical. I studied piano most of my childhood and only stopped taking lessons at 18 when I left home to go to college. Since then I've never lived in a house with a piano. It's a dream to one day own one myself, and you've inspired me to start saving because music is such a transformative force for joy. I am so freaking proud of you an inspired by you! I played the piano when I was small but I didn't have enough desire to practice often so I gave it up. Now, I wish I still played and I have also dreamed of having my own upright piano and teaching myself. Thank you for including yourself playing. I needed to remember that there is joy in being a beginner.

Also, love the message at the end. My grandma spent thanksgiving in the hospital & we stayed there with her, so we had a bit of a weird unusual holiday then. But also, thank you to those who give their holidays to serve others, even if it's work for you, we appreciate you!

I don't have any friends right now 😕 so it's nice for me to share a bit of your day together 😄 I use to play a bit as a kid but never really got very far...last Christmas I bought a keyboard but I put it away yesterday because I have hardly used it so I was thinking of donating it...but now I want to get it back out! That's so wonderful that you are learning to play! I took the leap a few years ago and got a guitar but have struggled with my perfectionist tendencies and now it mocks me from the dining room. I really need to start back up again.

I immediately recognized what you played as a piece in my wedding 32 1/2 years ago. It’s magical! One day I’ll write more but please know that your videos are inspiring me to once again look for beauty and connection in a newish town. It’s been kind of lonely the past 3 1/2 years in a new place across the country away from friends and extended family but my husband, daughter, and I are trying to muster some Christmas spirit. That concert looked absolutely amazing! I've been playing music pretty much my entire life and I believe music is your soul speaking. I don't know if you have ever heard of Dougie MacLean, but he's a singer songwriter from Scotland and his music is like nothing you've ever heard. I've had the pleasure of seeing him live and getting to know him over the years. One of the most magical experiences I ever had was at one of his concerts. It was at a small theater downtown and I was sitting in the top balcony row, so I could hear everyone on the floor. He has this song called Feel So Near and when he sings it he has the audience sing and OMG the sound was beautiful! To hear several hundred people singing in this beautiful theater was incredible. I had the perfect seat for it, too. Check him out on here. I know you'll love him! I could tell you SO many pieces of music to check out. One of my favorite pieces is from a movie called The Mission. It's Gabriel's Oboe...it's stunning. I may have to make a cd for you...

Hi Morgan! I am so happy you got your keyboard and are learning to play. I have always wanted to play the piano, but for many reasons, it never came to be (or at least just until now). I think it has been so mainly because of my limiting thoughts and all that comes with having an anxious mind and a huge load of work. Anyway, I just wanted to show up and tell you that you accomplishing this made me happy! And also, to Hannah, I'd like to tell you that you are not alone in this! I work on New Year as well. It may have a different meaning for me, being Spanish, since for us Christmas holidays extend until the 6th of January, when we exchange presents, so it means I have to come back from my hometown to the city I live and work in a bit earlier than I would have liked to and miss the Día de Reyes 😔. But as you said, you (and I) won't be alone at the hospital. I will be the only doctor in the Oncology department there, but the nurses, nursing assistants and cleaning people are as essential as we are for making our patients' day a little brighter. Remember you have that power and that for them, you, and you being there, are vital. And that your family, even if you cannot share the day with them, I am sure, could not be prouder of you. 🎄❤

aww the concert sounds so amazing🥹 if you want a similar experience like that and there’s a performance in portland (you may have already seen it since you used the dance of the sugar plum fairy music in this video), but my favorite christmas tradition i do every year is see the nutcracker ballet:) there’s almost always a live symphony as well and the music is so moving, i cry every single year🥹 i think you’d love it!!
