HappyRoute is back with another troll level called "Wackwards Wrong Jump" and it broke me my friends. Absolutely shattered my brain into tiny shards.

Oh, something actually kinda somewhat interesting about this level, I originally wanted the part at 31:42 to just be an actual BLJ cutscene thing so I made that track, tested it out, tried it out and saw that it flug me backwards instead of working and was like "okay, in what world could I not use this as a troll?" Edit: Another kinda interesting fact, the subworld checkpoint room uses 54 sprites, I even brought my switch to school and used sheets of paper to take notes on how every contraption in that part worked, it broke a lot but also does a few more things that the video doesn't even show, if you don't grab the flag at the end it CP1s you and takes you through a whole new little path where after the CP1 you play the first part again and the level can be beaten from there without doing the entire level

@@albinocat What makes troll levels good is basically a mix of creativity, outsmarting the user, frustration when intended but not overly done, and the difficultly coming from outsmarting the trolls and not how hard they are to dodge the second time. This is an early version of the level that kinda fails all of that

Actually, this is random but I think the WR would involving intentionally dying during the level. I think for the WR you would go through 1 room after CP1, get CP2, jump over CP1 and then die. During uploading I would be able to beat the level from CP2 in just 16 seconds due to the knowledge checkpoints

I love Newsies, but I saw it when I was older, around 13 or 14 maybe. Your kids are probably a little too young to appreciate it now (the overall story is a bit grown-up after all), but perhaps they'll enjoy it when they're older.

It wasn't intentional, Dave played an early version where that softlock hadn't been found yet. Funny enough that area that he got softlocked in was designated for a hint in Version 1 that Stevo thought I should change, so I tweaked that area but left the unnecessary space because I didn't thinking about it, it's removed in the current version 8, but VERY VERY technically, Stevo put that softlock there :P

Technically they're allowed, but I didn't intend to put them in this level. DGR played this level while it was still in playtesting so he found a softlock that I didn't realize was in the level until he got softlocked

This is the purest form of trolling: simply make conditions to trigger assumptions in people, then reveal they were wrong, then do it over and over and over again. Only someone who knows all the secrets could clear it in a decent time. That’s possibly how the dev made it through this monster they’ve created without losing their sanity.

Bro the CP room made me lose my sanity more than Dave lost his, I had like "Physcopath notes" on all the ways the different paths and contraptions interacted and I took 6 pages of notes on it while making that part

Oh, and yeah, it's designed so if you get CP1'd at the end you can beat the level after that first cycle without rebeating the whole level, so it is a lot easier if you beat the level in one try
