@@kenny347 i dont think kopitiam can be claimed only by one country , because its actually a culture that is spreadt over south east asia , so the kopitiam in Indonesia have their own signature and other south east asia countries also have their own signature.

“Made with love” ....is there any more cliched phrase when referring to food? I see nothing in his actions that show he is putting any special care/effort/“love” when making the coffee

Buy green coffee beans (robusta is recommended), roast them to your desired color. Then dump in sugar and margarine on those fresh beans. Keep roasting them till they're dark and a bit caramelised and there's no longer sugar bits. Let them cool, grind them the next day, put some on your glass, pour boiling water on them (coffee aficionados would glare at me looool) and add sugar. Tried that once back home and it is similar to what I usually drink in Singapore and Malaysia.

@@abelsumanas Yeah, this is basically the inverse of everything that people think is good coffee practice now! I always want to watch videos about coffee, even if it's just someone talking... but this style seems shocking to me. Cuban coffee is like this, Robusta beans over-roasted, then served with a lot of milk and sugar so you don't choke on it. In Central America some caramel is put in, so even brewed coffee is very black, and they have The SOCK. You can buy all this anywhere in Miami. If you grow up with this you can drink it black. But most people can't. It's the Robusta Coffee Syndrome! I just made that up. I will drink and enjoy this kind of coffee, but it seems so wrong, I don't do it at home! Technically it's over-roasted, over-extracted (usually, not in this specific video), adulterated (Margarine????) and drenched with sugar and canned milk which turns it into a coffee-flavored dessert! We have a LOT more respect for the coffee beans now!

@@abelsumanas I think real coffee enthusiasts would riot when you got to the part about margarine! I appreciate this information by the way, and if I was near this coffee vendor in the video I'm SURE I would buy that drink and enjoy it. I think it happens a lot in restaurants that you don't want to think too much about what you're consuming, maybe it's better not to look in the kitchen, if you see what I mean?

Go to an Asian grocer and buy the coffee sachets made in Singapore or Malaysia. Easier than roasting your own beans as Disabled Sumanas suggested
