The Thallax are old heresy-era combat cyborgs, basically a human brain encased in armor. Unlike servitors, the brain controlling the Lorica Thallax is fully conscious and isn't lobotomised, so their manufacture was considered a bit of a warcrime.

Uh. The Mechanicus would prefer using robots, but manufacturing AI is a crime, so they use a chopped up pilot instead, which is actually legal and used very often in 40k, from servitors to flying skulls and turrets and whatnot. If there was a warcrime about using mauled humans as brains for machines, it would be the lack of painkillers. Nobody cares about your feelings in 40k. So sad.

@@Anttown123 whatever the case, the Adeptus Mechanicus of the 41st millennium no longer use the Lorica Thallax, and I doubt they do so out of humanitarian reasons

In the lore the Imperial knight do have repair crews that travel in Baneblade sized repair trucks, behind the mechs and the trucks also launch cherubs as scouts. But, yeah geting some peasants to throw at the enemy or distinct house troops would be fun to have. Also a minor thing, that trigger the inner knight player in me, the knight shown is the Warden, gatling cannon arm, not the Paladin, fast firing tank gun arm. :P

I just looked up the Index and that's crazy, the Imp Knights are just a little baby subfaction with a handful of model types. At this point, with 40k being as old as it is, I assumed that every subfaction had been fleshed out, but apparently not...

The Thalax Lorica suit is a cyborg in power armor, quite similar to a Space Marine Dreadnought but using advanced AdMech weapons instead of silly bolters or missiles. Also, the Mechanicus do not wait for the pilot to get crippled before chopping him up and stuffing him inside a walking suit of armor.

Fun fact shack, mechanicus Knights do get infantry, and some do run around and repair! Normal knights also have infantry but there just knights.. like fantasy knights, it’s sir raloth the 5th charging at a space marine with his trusty razor pik and a shield

Go into the army painter and change the chapter etc for marines / chaos / imp guard and some others. It changes the unit models to fit. Which is very cool little detail.

That song wasn't from Darktide, it was Noosphere from Mechanicus. Easy mix-up though, both games have killer soundtracks. I only know this because it's one of my favorites.

In DoW Retribution you can right click the green reinforce button and the squad will automatically reinforce themselves when they can. Just makes it one less thing to worry about during a match.

Hey shack I’ve been a huge fan of your channel for years and I just recently got into 40k yeah that being said which is your favorite space marine legion/ chapter. For me it’s either the death guard, black templars or the imperial fists.

Sad thing is that, unless I'm mistaken, Dawn of War 3 wasn't even an RTS: It was a MOBA.

Worse - it was a combination of the two! Thing i hated about DoW3 - and i really tried to like it, the time to kill on units was ridiculous. You'd take in squads of space marines that would get carved like butter instantaneously, so any tactics became engage and as soon as they took fire, retreat to base to replace the units or lose the entire squad. This combined with the extra emphasis on heroes and hero micro just became a pain in the ass. With time they tweaked it to reduce the time to kill but the moba style of gameplay meant it just became continual chokepoint gameplay - massive armies in laneways then pushing or being pushed. The other thing was - the factions were super detailed (which is great) but this meant it would require considerable resources to create new factions, and it ONLY had 3 ffs - space marines, orks and eldar - not even chaos. Had they at least gone with four or five factions I reckon it'd have already made it a better game. Such a bloody shame. I hope a DOW4 is cooking somewhere.

The one skitsri to run the katalans is due to how uatomita work in warhammer their not ai but more remote control some people have somthing called a cortex controler it lets them control a team of robots

Is this game locked to 60 FPS? My 144hz monitor is sad now. I went into the config for DOW2 and DOW2 Retribution and changed vsync=1 to 0 and back and forth and nothing. There is no option in the game settings menu, I also went into the nvidia control panel and overridden it as well and still nothing. Why is it locked at 60FPS???

Some of those mechanicum robots are horus haresy units basicly most the robots are only playable in haresy the reason they cant build is not that they just cant but after the horus haresy they stoped deploying automatons much of the mechanicums haresy robots were just banned from use post civil war
