Hi from Italy, Stu. Which kind of ammo do you use for the 30-06 for pigs in Aussie lands? Ciao!
@HuntingwithStu6 жыл бұрын
I reload my own mate. I generally use 150gr projectiles and load well under Max recommendations to try and avoid the bullet passing straight through the pig. However, most shots do penetrate right through.
@alessandrogiangio48376 жыл бұрын
Thanx a lot mate for the kinda replay. I use a lot 150 grains (mostly Accubonds, Ballistic Tip and Partition) in my .30-06 and with my .308 with great satisfaction. I thought if you were using FMJ or SP... Pigs that live in warm climate do not really need though bullets: here, on the contrary, in winter times we need to use tougher bullets to penetrate their tough skins. However we hunt for them mainly on drive and on still hunting early in the morning and late in the afternoon even if at ight. These wiild boars are actually a pest worldwide. I am a journalist involved in sport fishing and hunting. I own two You Tube Challes on hunting, one in italian language (cacciatoriveri) and one in english language (truehunters): please have a lok on both are quite well made. I do reviews on firearms, ammos, optics and accessories. Over 5 millions of views in 5 years.... I really hope to meet you and hunt and fish with you in Your wonderful country. I have been two times in Australia but only for big game fishing in Cairns (black marlin and other big stuffs). But would like to hunt there for pigs&more! If you know some guide that could help me on hunting there I can organiza a sort or promo video on Australia Pig Hunting. Please let me know if you know somebody and which is the best season to come there for pig hunting. My really best to You!
@federiconunez47026 жыл бұрын
Exelente como siempre!!., una de mis pregunta es!, ¿que haces con esa cantidad de carne?... Saludos
@HuntingwithStu6 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. These animals are a pest to the farmer as the boars kill and eat young lambs so he wants us to cull as many as possible during our visit. The carcasses are eaten by other pigs and foxes and are often gone within a couple of weeks.
@federiconunez47026 жыл бұрын
I understand exactly, here in Entre Rios Argentina are also a big problem for the farmer, and they do a lot of damage just like the axis servant, but some people who kill in quantity also donate the meat to canteens and other organizations to help the more needy !!, greetings, you are an excellent hunter I watch your videos a lot.

@woofbark44755 жыл бұрын
Saw that you use a Burris Fullfield 2. I was surprised by mine just how good it is. I use one on the smaller calibre BMAG .17 WSM. Crap gun for longer range due to accuracy issues and calibre but an amazingly flat shooting rifle. I've been surprised by the wound depth of this round on some large pigs at 30 metres. I've had back issues hence the BMAG but surprisingly have dropped a couple of large pigs in their tracks with this thing. Others however, do get to run the same distance before dropping. I use a Leupold VX 1 3-9x40mm on my 6.5 Swedish Mauser sporterised. It's a solid but entry level scope but i think the Burris is the winner as it's lighter, sharper and brighter than the V1 and its zoom lever is not so tight. At a similar price range the Burris is a great little scope with good field of view.
@HuntingwithStu5 жыл бұрын
Yes mate my Bro in law gave me the scope as he didn't want it, ha. It works well, having said that I noticed a bit of moisture on the inside of the scope last trip out hopefully it is ok.
