hello, i wanna do sports physiotherapy too. what i wonder is do u have to travel a lot for that? or you can do it without needing it too? because im not much of a travel person

Hi @@zehrakrdag3999 It depends, if you’re working for a sports team then there is usually a lot of travel involved especially if it’s a top team that plays across cities/countries etc. But there are also sports rehab clinics where people come (with an injury attained from playing sport) for rehabilitation from a physiotherapist. So with that option, you’d be based at that clinic so you wouldn’t have to travel, clients would be travelling to you instead. I hope that helps - I’m currently a physio assistant, about to start my physiotherapy degree and I’m considering sports rehab.

From what I understand, you don't have to know about individual sports, but you need to know how sports can effect the body. I'm currently researching this to decide if it is what I want to do.

Most sports physical therapists are drawn into the career because they have played one or more sports somewhat seriously in the past, so by extension, they do know about sports. But as the previous commenter said, the important thing is to know how sports affect the body.
