Although I am English we have lived in Germany for 10 years now so I love to see your purchases from shops I have grown up with but can no longer shop at. I also find itreally interesting when you explain who owns what now, how times change you think you are buying from a trusted company only to find they no longer own the business. I make all of my cookie dough ahead for Christmas, make scones unbaked for the freezer, and as many other things that I can. You are a girl after my own heart!

Loved your day in the life. My mum always put the radio on when she left our dog. My daughter does the same. It’s just company isn’t it lol. Great idea about the spud prep. It’s Boxing Day that’s my crazy day. All the family comes over and we buffet our hearts out. There is always about 15 to 20 of us so that’s a lot of prep too. But I love it 🎄🎄🎄

Loved the video and I enjoy seeing the bits and pieces you have purchased as many of those things we can’t get here in Portugal! The blue dress is beautiful - hope you have a great time at the event on Saturday. I think I might try to get some (well similar) of those foil trays for Christmas cooking. I have two big girl dogs - and yes, they get a treat before I go out (I usually bring back a sharing spit roast chicken if I’m shopping) and mine have Boom Light on the radio as company whilst I’m away! Hi Helen. I was a bit late watching this video but as always, I found it very enjoyable. I sometimes feel grateful that in the area I live, we have very basic shops with small supermarkets and limited choices as I’m not tempted to buy any ‘extras’. In these days of high inflation, I simply cannot afford to be tempted by anything that doesn’t fall into the category of ‘necessities’! Whenever I visit England, I’m always overwhelmed by the choice of products. You looked very glamorous for the ball and for a very worthy cause. Take care.🧡🍁🎃

I’m a bit late watching this as I’m in Thailand sitting on my sunbed, with the jet lag and time difference takes it toll on you these days 😢.Really enjoyed your day in the life something different. Can not believe all them returns that’s a lot of work thanks for the effort you put in . Loved that blue dress on you it’s my favourite colour. We are moving house soon not really downsizing but getting rid off all sorts of things, going for a different look. A friend of mine has not long passed away with cancer she was only 57 she’d had a double mastectomy about 14 years ago but unfortunately it returned in locked down . I donated everything to the cancer research shop in are village my hubby has a card they claim the tax back or something not sure how that works , anyway just got a letter to say they sold the 7 Lladro’s. I gave them and made £203. They were just a few of the things I gave them , there was 6 bags and 5 big boxes full of all sorts hopefully the money they’ve made will help fight this terrible disease. Xx

Hi Helen, Are all husbands the same with regards to Christmas, he rolls his eyes and just cannot get his head around that Christmas is on its way?. I have a number of scandi houses which I display in my hallway at Christmas with a wired string of lights and christmas trees. Looks fab. Cannot wait to dress our home. Wish we had a Costco too.
