vanessa nals I was worried about making friends a little, but not too bothered to be honest as I already have a good group of friends where I live. However I made lots of friends and continue to do so. Some my age, some older and some younger. It's one of the best things about being at a university rather than distance learning, and I was able to form some good study groups that really helped my learning.

Hey :) I'm studying a foundation year and will hopefully go on to study physics. Although aerospace is an option, I don't think I'm interested enough. I have a slightly unusual background in that I studied A Levels in Art, English, Photography and History. Which is why I am doing the foundation year, which is basically maths and physics.

Wow. I was a troubled kid at school I never learnt anything so I don't know anything. I am interested in science but I need to fix everything such as maths, English, grammar, how to study, etc. I am trying to start from the bottom so I get a good foundation. I try to do that before but I could not. Then I found colleges in London take you from level 1. You could walk off the street no questions ask. I am planning to do Btec level 1 science. I never know any mature student studying science or engineering mainly arts subjects. because I only thought that people do it from a young age and that your mind was one way or another. I learnt basic steam subjects. Are you going to do videos about what you learn, how you get into uni, how old are you, note taking, do you make anything, revision. Because I would love to see those videos

Hi again Athena. Yes I felt very similarly to you when I was young but this is something I feel very strongly about, and I know other who have managed to find fulfilling careers in the STEM after retraining later on in life. I am 29 next week, so not too old! But it is never to late to learn in my eyes. What do you want to study? I am going to make videos about note taking, studying STEM, revision, time management, how to apply to uni etc. And many many more I hope! :)

Yeah I found the old thread. I am currently doing BTEC level 1 science. I think I would like to go for somewhere along the line of Geology or natural science or earth science. I love sciences. I think I need to practice my maths and English. I find physics interesting although I find it hard at the moment. But there’s something alluring about physics. As my science teacher says that I need to take care of the physics for the foundation of anything. I find myself studying that subject more even though I like chemistry better.
